The torn veil of the temple

The Torn Curtain of the Tabernacle

     Here is a picture that was brought into my mind. After God created all things physical, He knew that all that was good would be tainted by sin. It was by this understanding that He put on the black robe of judgment. Man sinned and God judged Him for it bringing death into existence, the existence of physical death.

   At the time of the birth, life, death and resurrection of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, it was the time between Christ's death and resurrection that God the Father took off the black robe of judgment and gave all authority to Christ His Son and Christ now rules from the mercy seat, wearing the white robe of righteousness. The mercy seat is; that which was the judgment seat of the Father. The authority of the Kingdom of God was passed down to His Son.

     It is the taking off of the robe of judgment; the tearing of the curtain of the heavenly tabernacle from top to bottom (for God the Father is the heavenly Tabernacle that we will dwell in), that the true nature of the Father is seen. The veil was lifted, the veil of judgment was lifted and His true nature is seen, His true nature being love. It is like saying; the black robe hid the love of God, His true nature.

     We see this example in our own lives, is not the love of an earthly father hidden from a child when the earthly father is trying to teach him what is right and what is wrong, the child only sees the discipline that is in front of him, not the reason (the motive) the father is disciplining the child.

     Now does a loving earthly father keep this child under the penalty for that sin, from then on? No, a loving father releases that child from the penalty by showing mercy to the child, does this child have to be forgiven, no, but a loving father will show mercy to his child, and that is because he loves his child. Now I ask, are we, as an earthly physical being made up of the dust of the earth, capable of showing more mercy to another than God is? I think not.

     Adam and Eve had no concept of what it meant to be righteous and in order for them to understand righteousness, unrighteousness had to come into existence. Now in order for them to move into the realm of understanding unrighteousness, God give them the ability to choose; in other words, He gave them free will, but what He held back from them was the power to resist doing wrong. This power to resist from doing wrong is the understanding of right and wrong and the benefits of doing right compared to the loss of doing wrong.

     I believe the whole purpose for the physical world to come into existence was so that we could come to this understanding, which we, by the power of God the Father, through His Son and Holy Spirit understand as coming to the knowledge of the truth.

     This example of taking off the robe of judgment also applies to us as Christians, take it off and show the true nature of God the Father that is in you and let it shine through you, Let your light shine to the world so that the Father may be glorified by others through you, who are a slave of righteousness. Do not hide it under a basket ( a black robe).

     Understanding this is to understand the difference between, to rule and to reign. The concept of rule is that someone is always below you as subjects. To reign is that if we are like Christ, we bring them up to the place we are at. This is where being humble or prideful comes in, if we rule over others, as physical beings here, we are prideful, but if we reign as physical beings here, we are humble and bring others up to the place we are at; that place being the understanding of truth. By giving them the same good news that we were given, that God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit love them as much as They love us.

     If we do not lift one finger to do so, we become like the Pharisees, thinking we are above another. True salvation is that of being saved from our own ignorance of righteousness and unrighteousness, for it is out of ignorance (the lack of understanding) that sin is conceived in the mind and manifested through the body, especially that which cannot be tamed by men, the tongue. For it is what comes out of the mouth, that is what defiles a man.

     We are to take off the black robe and clothe ourselves with the white robe of righteousness and rule "over" others (through humbleness) with mercy, compassion, forgiveness and love, for in doing so you reign "with" Christ bringing others up to your understanding of righteousness thereby bringing them life; bringing them Christ.

     As for the rest of this verse, we are the earth that is shook by this understanding and the rock that is split is the separation of soul and spirit within our mind; the separation of the nature of God from ..... our own spirit which contains the nature of man.

     If we now look at the movement from one verse to another, the rock in this verse becomes the grave in the next. What do a rock and a grave have in common? A grave is a hollow carved out of a rock.

This morning I was meditating on a verse in Isa 45. Verse 21-22  declares He is "A just God and a Savior... look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth!... "   I came to see this in a new light. Since God created us and is responsible for us, it is only just that He save us. He is a Savior because He is just. He knows we are born in iniquity. It was not an accident. I cannot completely wrap my head around why it was necessary, but because He is just, He will redeem, reconcile His creation who is in bondage, subjected according to His specific outcome. It would be an unjust Creator to leave His broken world to spin out of control. He calls to all His children of the earth--look to me. When we look to Him we can triumphantly say as in verse 24 "Surely in the Lord I have righteousness and strength!"  What peace there is in that!

When God made us, He made us as an image, as His image.  So here we are in the material world, as images of our Creator, but is that really us?  No, we are images.  We are not reality.  The reality is on God's side of the veil, in what is sometimes called the Invisible World.  When the veil of the temple was ripped, it was the promise that we could and would enter into the now-invisible world, into the real reality on the other side of the veil.  It is a promise and an invitation.

Yes, a promise of forgiveness since He took off the robe and an invitation to enter with no fear.
