Grief

Was watching a documentary about Queen Elizabeth II on public television, and they recounted a message she sent to the memorial service held in NYC for British victims of 9-11.

The last sentence of her message was, "Grief is the price we pay for love."

A short sentence, that. But packed with an incredible depth of meaning, no?

Hi Cardinal,

I think what struck me most about it is how it summarizes so well the fundamental meaning of loss. And it reminded me about why scripture refers to death as the enemy.

It's almost like death robs (or at least attempts to rob) us not only of our lives, but of love its very self. A formidable enemy, death.

Sure glad it is slated for destruction.  :thumbsup:
