Matthew 11
10 For this is he, of whom it is written , Behold , I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. 11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. 12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence , and the violent take it by force . 13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. 14 And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come .

What does verse 13 mean?
How is John the Baptist Elias?

Thanks.

Tom

"And, if you are willing to receive him, he is Elijah who is about to be coming." (Matthew 11:14)

"And His disciples inquire of Him, saying, 'Why, then, are the scribes saying that Elijah must be coming first?" Now He, answering, said to them that "Elijah is indeed coming, and will be restoring all. Yet I am saying to you that Elijah came already, and they did not recognize him, but they do to him whatever they will. Thus the Son of Mankind also is about to be suffering by them." Then the disciples understand that He spoke to them concerning John the baptist." (Matthew 17:10-13)

"And he shall be coming before in His sight in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn back the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the stubborn to the prudence of the just, to make ready a people formed for the Lord." (Luke 1:17)

"Behold, I will send to you Elijah, the prophet, before the coming of the great and advent day of Yahweh." (Malachi 4:5)

Make ready a people formed for the the Lord. Awesome. The spirit of Elijah prepares a vessel, emptied of man and ready for God, formed in the image of Christ in order to be filled with the Spirit of God.
The Logos is complete, but it is not completely understood. http://www.hell-is-a-myth.webs.com/
