G'day All;
I remember an interesting definition of the discernment process;
a spiritual gift to know if any manifestation of behaviour, or words, has a demonic spirit, or a human soul, influencing them.
By dictionary - good judgment or insight, perceive clearly with the mind of senses, make out by thought or by gazing, listening.
Would seem to be the fruit of the tree of knowledge. Wisdom coming from the experiences we all go through.
Throughout history we have had much death.
This has usually been caused by one person coveting something another one had- has resulted in wars of nations.
Paul points out in Romans 7 about having learnt not to covet because of the commandment.
I know my senses have gone through much correction to strip away the old man and put on the new.

Heb 5;14 " Solid food is for the mature,
for those who by virtue of their maturity have senses that are " trained to distinguish good from evil."

Interesting how in Hebrews 6 there is a follow up of the above statement to point out that we should now see the base we work from is so firmly entrenched we do not need to discuss again so much.

Heb 6;1,2 " Therefore let us leave standing the elementary teaching about Christ and let us move on to maturity,
not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works,
and of faith in God,
instruction about cleansing rites,
and laying on of hands,
the resurrection of the dead,
and an age of judgment."

The last enemy to be destroyed is death [1 Cor 15;26].
This would be why the creation eagerly awaits for the revealing of the sons of God[Rom8;19]
All this so we could learn to what to truly value- true discernment from God- a glorious gift thanks be to Christ Who has this in hand at the right hand of God.

2 Thess 2;13 " But we thank God for you kinsmen loved by the Lord as God chose you as first-fruits for salvation, by the sanctification/separation/cleansing of the spirit and belief in the truth."

Due to this we are not worried by the goings on around us, but are excited because we are looking for the coming ages to start the next part of the process. More of that discernment factor.

Fellow brother in Christ

sheila

 :2c: 2 Cor ch10

unfortunately many coming forth from Babylon...have even the very foundation stones of faith scattered...and must be picked up

one by one. Being our brother's keeper and being cognizant that not all members of the body are'eyes','nose'and "ears" and

many have not 'hooves' and are "skinned and thrown about"

Those that served under the law covenant in the temple...day and night offered the same sacrifices over and over.....I'm sure

it became monotonous.but...there must be food in the Lord's house.

demolishing strongholds[satan won't let go" ,'Pharoah and his armies pursue"]..YET!'O' Death,I shall be thy plagues!"

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up AGAINST the knowledge of God,and we take captive every thought

to make it obedient to Christ.

dead works are of satan and broken up of Christ,

faith is a gift

from now on call no man unclean

pray and forgive one another their sins

ALL LIVE UNTO GOD!

The deaf shall hear, the blind shall see and LIVE!! God Himself will finish their training ....ALL YOUR PEOPLE SHALL BE TAUGHT OF GOD.

AND LEARN RIGHTEOUNESS........

God has things to show us..that can not be seen by human vision...ultra-violet and infra-red light that reveal the unseen.......

Lazer light that cuts like a sword..and heals/kills... :2c:

Amen  and we're being prepared for it now.. (the "ages to come").. Rev.7's being sealed on the forehead, read w/ discernment - 2 groups, not one. One #'ed, one too many to #. (The seals of God, of chapter 6 being main elements of the years of our Lord, a.d / aka, this age, confused because told as a blend of their whole, from start to end of the age, I mention for the context of chapter 7).

So sealed on the forehead to go with the seal upon our heart. And how is the Spirit of Elijah before Jesus' comings.. John the Baptist was not a reed bending in the wind (Jesus said).. not buffeted about by every wind of doctrine..
