The white field and the time of the end

John 4
34 Jesus is saying to them, "My food is that I should be doing the will of Him Who sends Me, and should be perfecting His work."
35 Are you not saying that, 'Still four months is it, and the harvest is coming'? Lo! I am saying to you, Lift up your eyes and gaze on the countrysides, for they are white for harvest already."
36 And he who is reaping is getting wages and is gathering fruit for life eonian, that both the sower and the reaper likewise may be rejoicing."
37 For in this case is the saying true, that 'One is the sower and another is the reaper.'"
38 I commission you to reap that for which you have not toiled. Others have toiled, and you have entered into their toil."
39 Now out of that city many of the Samaritans believe in Him because of the word of the woman, testifying that "He told me all whatever I do."

I see several things in that verse.
The most obvious one is that the fields were ready for harvest as Jesus said.
The second meaning is that Jesus spoke those words during a Sabbath year. That's the reason the field wasn't harvested yet.

But what's the spiritual meaning? The harvesting angels of Revelation are about to start harvesting?

Matt 3:2 And saying, Repent you: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Imo 'at hand', 'near' and similar translations is an idiom meaning it's already there.

So I wonder if Jesus death occurred in the middle of the book of Revelation....?

WW, I have only just read your post and had to thank you for sharing your insight. I truly believe that we will never see what is portrayed in the Book of Revelations. It is a book of Symbols. Not Physical but Spiritual. I believe that we are now living in the time of Spiritual Awakening. Jesus said that the time was near.

I truly believe we can and will. The reason we don't is just shallow understanding. Each and every Bible book is full of symbols so that's no answer/excuse.
