I don't see this the same way I once would have

I once would have seen a tract like this as truth, however now I see something else

I see it as implying judgment and condemnation on the people mentioned, masquerading under the guise of false humility, I personally found it offensive, do others see the same thing, or am I deceived or overreacting

It's things like this that make me so uncomfortable in that church setting

I see it says the gospel, which is supposed to be good news, how can what they are implying be good news for anyone

Which begs the question

Who or what placed these people in the position to even be in such a predicament in the first place (that is hinted at in the brochure)

I couldn't agree more, Anne, that meant to put a guilt trip on those that read it, I was looking for an earlier article that shows what they believe happens, as I can't find it I'll just post what I remember it saying

Now that's one way of looking at it :grin:, I know they love things like "Heaven gates and hell's flames."

Speaking of chick tracts, I agree that they are far worse, this church I used to attend was one of the better ones that believed in ET, the trouble with chick tracts is that they portray God as loving to the few and vengeful and vindictive to the many, they also appears to have this fixation that satan is blinding the world etc etc

Especially this tract here (Who murdered Clarice)

Pay particular attention to Jesus, who is portrayed as vindictive and horrible to his enemies, when we are commanded to love ours, what changes at death, do all feelings of empathy and love just vanish like smoke in the wind

As horrible as this seems and leading on from TimB's thread about abortion, if one takes this type of doctrine to it's logical conclusion, then the abortion doctor did a good thing because if this child had grown up, there would have been a good chance that she wouldn't have been saved, thereby implying that abortionists are far more successful at saving the lost than evangelists, something is so WRONG with this picture :sigh: :dontknow: :dontknow:
