GodIsLove

I will stumble upon some article about God's love for us...how it is unconditional and stronger than any human love. God is Love. And so on...

Inevitably the author then somewhere says "all we have to do is accept this love."

I love my kids. As close to unconditionally as humanly possible. Do they have to accept my love? Do they have to do anything at all? No, I will love them regardless.

The "accepting" of God's love may allow us to feel His love or believe in His love, but His love is not conditional on us accepting it!

God is Love and He loves all of us.

Thanks God is love ,
I do believe you got something there !
Just read an article  about how the DNA of the  male and the DNA of the female   are 50 /50  make one new flesh =child ,  they have exactly  half  and half  making one new and whole being

Than considering  Jesus Christ being called the son of man  and the  son of God  and the only one of His kind  .
Was this a new thing  they spoke of in Gods  plan  way back as prophesied    to come  and have   now  being the fruit of the womb , and out of the belly  flows LIVING WATER     CHRIST IN YOU   the hope of glory ?

Having thought of it  before  but it never ever   bore ''fruit ''   and never does until the proper  time  that God gives the increase  basically   the   fruit    ,substance of  faith believing

This has  given a whole new meaning of being born again   from above , to me , as  the scriptures ,''If  God had not left us a seed , we would be  just as sodom and Gomorrah'' .   the remnant seed / Word of God becoming flesh  and dwelling   within His  people     Called the Lord Jesus Christ a new creation though Him  .

God will do a new thing  in faith[substance of things hoped for  ] , hope  [being made Alive in Christ ]and Love   [ being the fruits of the HOLY SPIRIT] ...

in Isaiah 43 18"Do not call to mind the former things, Or ponder things of the past. 19"Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert. 20"The beasts of the field will glorify Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I have given waters in the wilderness And rivers in the desert, To give drink to My chosen people....

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Exodus 17:6
I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink." So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel.

I can remember    many  years ago of not being able to read the bible   whatsoever it was as if a veil  was covering  it , and could not make heads nor tails of it .
and can  only  remember the first time in    Ecc  9    when   only 23 and dealing with the death of my  20 year old brother   suddenly ,  a sibling , I begged God for some kind of answer

to be conforted  with , there was no peace  in my  earthly condition  and  spirit was so vexed and troubled and all emotions flowed out from the core of my being , forsaken because death had consumed me  because  I loved my brother more than myself  , this is when God first  ''planted the seed of hope in my heart ''

For any one of us  can tell when we are ''touched by God ?''  The thick darkness and gloom was there , increasing  in the midst of  all that , till that tiny glimmer of  hope  emerged    , the things of God  I had heard of Him  as a child  on  had  come a small light of peace and hope within  , a comfort and answer  in death .
This was what  made me hope  in God  in my carnal mind  when there was no hope in the world at all    and believe  this happens to us all  in some form and degree  I do not fully understand it all .

10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity or planning or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol/grave /hidden  things / unseen  where you are going.

11I again saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift and the battle is not to the warriors, and neither is bread to the wise nor wealth to the discerning nor favor to men of ability; for time and chance overtake them all.

12 Moreover, man does not know his time:

like fish caught in a treacherous net and birds trapped in a snare, so the sons of men are ensnared at an evil time when it suddenly falls on them.

I do believe    that  even being   that carnal minded  and stuck with a  blow ,    the Lord pierced though    with the Light of Love  and saved   me from myself those  dark and terrifying   empty thoughts   during the  loss   of  human earthly /temporary  life  with  love showing greater Love  than  that  ,
Shows us that  we are to not   put  peace  or stock and safety in anything   earthly    all being temporary   as security   in  and clinging to Jesus  for our lives [joy ,peace Holy Spirit  comfort ]

We all   do suffer loss  continually  in this realm , but to gain  the  greater things of Gods love  though faith as hope in   Jesus Christ strengthens us to endure to the end .

Because God knows  fully  what love is , we can only begin to know that GOD IS LOVE   .
Jesus is the reward  !!

I agree! And per what Jesus said to Nicodemus, I think the issue is being born from above - which is again dependent upon the Father - rather than "accepting" Him.
