The second resurrection strongly supports UR?

The verse is Revelation 20:9 - But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished..

"The rest of the dead" surely are those not raised to life at Jesus' return and start of His second advent (which starts with His thousand year, post return, Kingdom.. ruling, as we know, until all things are subdued..

I finally got it through my head how most of ET Christendom views the afterlife and Judgment Day. I think the idea is believers are escorted to heaven to await Jesus' return when their bodies will rise. And the unsaved, at death, go to a fiery pit called hell.

Revelation says the rest of the dead live after the thousand years. So I'm thinking the thought is, their bodies rise and they are reunited with their body and then they go back to hell, a lake of fire.

In this belief, they were in hell already.. idk the whole thing sounds a bit messy and disorganized to me. (Of course we already know the whole ET/eternal torment thing makes no logical sense anyway.. But jes sayin'!

Some of these I wouldn't ultimately say to be the final authority, as they can be found referencing another verse, but Revelation 20:5 is not one of them. It contradicts other verses anyway.

This would be how the chapter would read without the words of verse 5 - "but the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished" (decided by the Sinaitic and the Vatican 1209? idk)


Rev 20 -

13 and the sea did give up those dead in it, and the death and the hades did give up the dead in them, and they were judged, each one according to their works;

14 and the death and the hades were cast to the lake of the fire -- this [is] the second death;

15 and if any one was not found (after all that?) written in the scroll of the life, he was cast to the lake of the fire.

It is actually Rev 20:5. Thinking of another verse!

Revelations 20:5 is the destination(Omega). The cross is the means(Alpha- Col 1:20). The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world becomes the one seated on the throne "Sit thou at my right hand until every adversary becomes a footstool for Your feet"(Heb 1:1-13) -the one "gathering all things together into one"(Eph1:9-11) until God becomes All in ALL(1 Corinthians 15:23-28).

His cross proves His intent

"If I am lifted up from the earth I will draw all men unto me"

"Father forgive them they dont know what they are doing"

The throne proves His ability to bring it to pass, because God has declared it, and He is faithful.

People want to put the endings(in Rev.) where they want them to be in accordance with their doctrinal sacred cows. But(imo) the secrets to understanding John's apocalypse are in the gospels, the epistles, the words of the prophets and apostles, the foundation stones of the New Jerusalem.

Rev 5: When the sealed scroll is opened

And they sang a new song, saying:

"You are worthy to take the scroll
    and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
    and with your blood you purchased for God
    persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.

You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
    and they will reign on the earth."

Amen! Many folks are all confused about the Book of Revelation, as though it were a separate book or something.. When all it is is the consummation and written to be understood or it wouldn't be written.. God's Word very much supports and speaks of God's UR intent (will, blueprint) even if so many see it all very confusedly.. Like seeing only the underside of a beautiful tapestry.. And that God would raise dead unbelievers, as Jesus said, and logic of UR tells us,
strongly contradicts the idea of after death, no hope. :dsunny:
