"Did personification happen?
Yes. Theists personify Logos?
Did Logos 'incarnate'?
Yes. All humans incarnate Logos at some level.
I think a panentheist explanation of John 1 is best.
Logos is IN the universe(s)"
Do you agree with this?:

In the beginning, that which Is [the unmanifest God] is all there was, and there was nothing else.
Yet All That Is could not know itself-- because All That Is is all there was, and there was nothing else.
And so, All That Is... was not.
This is the great Is/ Not Is to which mystics have referred from the beginning of time.

Now All That Is knew it was all there was-- but this was not enough, for it could only know its utter magnificence conceptually, not experientially.
Yet the experience of itself is that for which it longed, for it wanted to know what it felt like to be so magnificent.
Still, this was impossible, because the very term "magnificent" is a relative term.
All That Is could not know what it felt like to be magnificent unless that which is not showed up.

And so All That Is divided Itself-- becoming, in one glorious moment, that which is this and that which is that.
For the first time, this and that existed, quite apart from each other.
From the No-Thing thus sprang the Everything-- a spiritual event entirely consistent, incidentally, with what your scientists call the Big Bang Theory.

In rendering the universe as a divided version of itself, God produced, from pure energy, all that now exists-- both seen and unseen.
In other words, not only was the physical universe thus created, but the metaphysical universe as well.

My divine purpose in dividing Me was to create sufficient parts of Me that I could know Myself experientially.

This is what your religions mean when they say that you were created in the "image and likeness of God."
We are composed of the same stuff.
My purpose in creating you, My spiritual offspring, was for Me to know Myself as God.
I have no way to do that save through you.

Under the plan, you as pure spirit would enter the physical universe just created.
This is because physicality is the only way to know experientially what you know conceptually.
It is, in fact, the reason I created the physical cosmos to begin with...

This is my plan for you.
This is my ideal: that I should become realized through you.
That thus, concept is turned into experience, that I might know my Self experientially.
Now I will explain to you the ultimate mystery; your exact and true relationship to me.
YOU ARE MY BODY.

_St. Athanasius on the Incarnation_ (1891)
https://archive.org/details/stathanasiusonth00athauoft/mode/2up?q=quickening
Page 29
For he [Christ] was not, as might be imagined, circumscribed in the body ;
nor, while present in the body, was he absent elsewhere ;
nor, while he moved the body, was the universe left void of his working and Providence ;
but, thing most marvellous, Word as he was, so far from being contained by anything, he rather contained all things himself ;
and just as while present in the whole of Creation, he is at once distinct in being from the universe, and present in all things by his own power,-- giving order to all things, and over all and in all revealing his own Providence, and giving life to each thing and all things, including the whole without being included, but being in his own Father alone wholly and in every respect,-- thus, even while present in a human body and himself quickening it, he was, without inconsistency, quickening the universe as well, and was in every process of nature, and was outside the whole, and while known from the body by his works, he was none the less manifest from the working of the universe as well.
...
Now, the Word of God in his man's nature... was not bound to his body, but rather was himself wielding it, so that he was not only in it, but was actually in everything, and while external to the universe, abode in his Father only.
And this was the wonderful thing, that he was at once walking as man, and as the Word was quickening all things, and as the Son was dwelling with his Father.

Do you agree with the claim that "most, if not all, of the good things that" human bodies do are attributable to God?

I'm always coming through in some bodies some of the time.
You are often me, but you don't know it.
Most, if not all, of the good things that these bodies do is me.
The things you're not proud of are the persona acting out of fear.
When you're being brave and strong and doing something you're proud of, that's usually me.
Sometimes, it's the persona doing something that the persona thinks is for good, and it's really not.

Greg Mackie, "The Course's Nondualism:  Love Is a Law Without an Opposite"
https://circleofa.org/library/nondualistic/
A Course in Miracles...
The Course's nondualism... says that only the positive side of certain fundamental opposites is a manifestation of the One (God);
the negative side is not a manifestation of God at all, but is instead solely a mistaken product of our own minds.
...only the positive side of these [just-mentioned] opposites is a manifestation of God.
Thus, there is only good, only life, only spirit, only joy, only peace, only holiness--
all else is pure illusion generated solely by our own minds in our mistaken attempt to separate from God.
...
This, then, is the great benefit that the Course's nondualism offers us:
It gives us a vision of reality in which everything-- God's nature, our own true nature, and the lives we lead when we let our own true nature shine forth-- is pure, unadulterated love, the endless manifestation of the glorious truth that love is a law without an opposite.

"disagree with the book title subheading : WE ARE ALL GOD. WE HAVE JUST FORGOTTEN"
Is it the case that if I am loving my neighbor, I am loving God?

"the second is like it"
Matthew 22 (NIV)
https://biblehub.com/niv/matthew/22.htm
36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"
37 Jesus replied:
"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it:
'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

====================
John 10 (Berean Literal)
https://biblehub.com/blb/john/10.htm
34 Jesus answered them,
"Is it not written in your Law:
'I said you are gods'?
35 If he called them gods to whom the word of God came,
and the Scripture is not able to be broken,
36 do you say _of Him_ whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world,
'You blaspheme,'
because I said, 'I am Son of God'?

every decision I make that's honest and fair,
every change I make to be true to myself,
every thought I have that leads to peace,
every deed I do to help another:
every one of these is a gift of your prompting...

Every time I stop to look within,
every moment I pause to ask your pardon,
every prayer I whisper to ask for help,
every time I thank you for all my gifts,
every thought I have that leads to you:
everyone of these is your gift to me,

Without a single exception, Lord,
every good gift in my life
comes from you...

And here are the gifts I'm grateful for today:

We assume the "I" is our real identity, our everyday normal consciousness, but upon examination we see that it is just an occasional actor on the stage of our lives.
It thinks it has the starring role in life, but it is just a minor character actor who has an exaggerated sense of his own importance.
The leading role goes to God.
By "God" I mean the real conscious Presence, which is living our lives.
We are not who we think we are.
We are not the self.
We are the earthen vessel through which the Divine lives life.
As the Apostle Paul says,
"We have this treasure in earthen vessels,
that the excellence of the power may be of God
and not of us." (2 Corinthians 4:7)
We are nothing but an empty shell.
God is everything.
God sees through our eyes, and feels through our body, and perceives through our consciousness.
As Paul says,
"We have the mind of Christ." (1 Corinthians 2:16)
We are instruments of God.
God is living his life through us and through the world.
...
"Do you not know that
your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit
who is in you, whom you have from God,
and you are not your own?" (1 Corinthians 6:19)
...
We are the physical body of the spiritual Christ.
Christ is living his Life through us corporately as well as individually.
Once again I will quote my favorite scripture text,
"It is no longer I who live
but Christ who lives in me." (Galatians 2:20)
Our bodies, which include our psychological selves, are simply vessels of God.
The "I," the separate self, is just along for the ride.
Usually he just gets in the way.
We are much better off without him.
The True Actor of our lives is the One that we call God.
...
We are in God.
"In Him we live and move and have our being."
Everything is in God, and God is living in and through every other part of Creation.
The only difference is that in human beings there is consciousness of this Divine Presence.
...
"Christ in you, the hope of glory." (Colossians 1:27)

And I rest in the presence of the Lord
I take it everywhere I go
And I let everybody know
That deep within me
Dwells the power of God
In the shelter house
Of my heart

Verse 1:
Oh Lord You have blessed me
You have filled me up
Given me life and the hope to carry on
I thank God that when I'm weak
I can call Your name
And walk boldly in the presence of the King

Verse 2:
I am filled with the power and authority
To take on any opposition that may rise
I don't care about the circumstance I may be in
'Cause I know, this power within me never ends

Emilie Cady, _Lessons in Truth_ (1895)
https://www.truthunity.net/books/emilie-cady-lessons-in-truth-2
3. God, then, is not, as many of us have been taught to believe, a big personage or man residing somewhere in a beautiful region in the sky, called "heaven," where good people go when they die, and see Him clothed in ineffable glory;
nor is He a stern, angry judge only awaiting opportunity somewhere to punish bad people who have failed to live a perfect life here.

4. God is Spirit, or the creative energy that is the cause of all visible things.
God as Spirit is the invisible life and intelligence underlying all physical things.
There could be no body, or visible part, to anything unless there was first Spirit as creative cause.

5. God is not a being or person having life, intelligence, love, power.
God is that invisible, intangible, but very real, something we call life.
God is perfect love and infinite power.
God is the total of these, the total of all good, whether manifested or unexpressed.

6. There is but one God in the universe, but one source of all the different forms of life or intelligence that we see, whether they be men, animals, trees, or rocks.

7. God is Spirit.
We cannot see Spirit with these fleshly eyes; but when we clothe ourselves with the spiritual body, then Spirit is visible or manifest and we recognize it.
You do not see the living, thinking "me" when you look at my body.
You see only the form which I am manifesting.

8. God is love.
We cannot see love or grasp any comprehension of what love is, except as love is clothed with a form.
All the love in the universe is God.
The love between husband and wife, between parents and children, is just the least little bit of God, as pushed forth in visible form into manifestation.
A mother's love, so infinitely tender, so unfailing, is God's love, only manifested in greater degree by the mother.

9. God is wisdom and intelligence.
All the wisdom and intelligence that we see in the universe is God, is wisdom projected through a visible form.
To educate (from educare, to lead forth) never means to force into from the outside, but always means to draw out from within something already existing there.
God as infinite wisdom lies within every human being, only waiting to be led forth into manifestation.
This is true education.

10. Heretofore we have sought knowledge and help from outside sources, not knowing that the source of all knowledge, the very Spirit of truth, is lying latent within each one of us, waiting to be called on to teach us the truth about all things-- most marvelous of teachers, and everywhere present, without money or price!

11. God is power.
Not simply God has power, but God is power.
In other words, all the power there is to do anything is God.
God, the source of our existence every moment, is not simply omnipotent (all-powerful); He is omnipotence (all power).
He is not alone omniscient (all-knowing); He is omni-science (all knowledge).
He is not only omni-present, but more-- omnipresence.
God is not a being having qualities, but He is the good itself.
Everything that you can think of that is good, when in its absolute perfection, goes to make up that invisible Being we call God.

12. God, then, is the substance (from _sub_, under, and _stare_, to stand), or the real thing standing under every visible form of life, love, intelligence, or power.
Each rock, tree, animal, every visible thing, is a manifestation of the one Spirit-- God-- differing only in degree of manifestation;
and each of the numberless modes of manifestation or individualities, however insignificant, contains the whole.

No one of us is the One God.
But, what we are saying is that nothing exists apart from God;
that God wears all of creation like a wardrobe and that, without God, creation has no shape or form.
There's no part of me that is not part of God and no part of God that is not part of me.
Creation is animated by and inhabited by God.
There can be no such thing as creation apart from the God who has become manifested within that creation.
So, for me, as part of that creation, to say that there is a part of me that is God, I am affirming that, apart from God, I do not exist.
There is a part of me that is God's presence made flesh.
God exists, at least in some part, as me.

"a thing is defined by its limitations.
If every surface of every object in the universe was the color red
then it would be impossible to define the color red,
much less recognize it"

So if Christ "fills everything in every way," then what?-- it "would be impossible to define" 'Christ'?

Ephesians 4:10 (Berean Literal)
https://biblehub.com/ephesians/4-10.htm
The _One_ having descended
is also the same _one_ having ascended
above all the heavens,
so that He might fill all things.

Ephesians 1 (NIV)
https://biblehub.com/niv/ephesians/1.htm
22 And God placed all things under his feet
and appointed him to be head over everything
for the church,
23 which is his body,
the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

"fascination with the Kabbalistic concept of Tzimtzum, roughly, the idea that the process of creation required that God limit himself"

========================
"Ephesians' Christological exaltation language means that Christ only came to 'fill all things' afterwards"
"Afterwards" what?

Revelation 13:8 (NKJV)
https://biblehub.com/revelation/13-8.htm
All who dwell on the earth will worship him,
whose names have not been written in the Book of Life
of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

"That's not the same as your claim that God is always everywhere and everything.
Jesus doesn't have to be invited in if he's already there"
If somebody is already in a building, but I erroneously think that that individual _isn't_ in the building, I could invite the person into the building, despite the person already being in the building.

"The whole point of apocalypticism is that there is a sphere of reality that is beyond the presence of God.
That's the issue!  God is not everywhere"
Where or what are some places or some times where God:
is, but isn't yet unveiled?
isn't?

DavidFord

"Is god part of that too?"
Yes.
Being omni-present, God is present in every plant and animal, every star and planet, and every member of a civilization.

"Then how is god to be distinguished from nature?"
Beats me.

[Giles]"God wears all of creation like a wardrobe...
without God, creation has no shape or form.  ...
Creation is animated by and inhabited by God"

"Ask yourself where God is not"
God is present everywhere.

"If god is everywhere then he is nowhere"
That doesn't make sense.
Do you think God is omnipresent?

"your definition of god is so inclusive as to be meaningless"
Do you have a better conception of God?

I am the light upon your path when you have lost your way
I am the footprints in the sand the ocean's tide can't wash away
I am the shelter from the storm that rages on and on
The incorruptible foundation that the wise man builds upon
I am the bread that feeds a starving man upon the street
I am the bounty on the table in the palace at the feast
I am the rain upon the earth after a scorching drought
I am the quenching of the thirst you never thought you'd be without

I am the melody that weaves its way inside your soul
I am the symphony, the masterpiece, the actor's greatest role
I am the poetry that speaks to you with every rhyme
I am the songwriter who seems to write your life in every line
I am the simple truths that shaped your world from your birth
I am the vast volumes of knowledge spanning all across the earth
I am the whisper of the wind you feel, but cannot see
I am the alpha and omega, first and last, eternally

I AM
You cannot see me
I AM
The resurrection and the life, the doorway and the vine, I AM
I AM
You cannot touch me
I AM
The bread of life, light of the world, long before Abraham, I AM

[Lead Break: Val]

I am the trusting child whose simple faith is ever sure
I am the parent's love, unchanging, unconditional and pure
I am the loyal friend whose heart will never let you down
I am the hand that pulls you back into the boat before you drown
I am the thunder and the glory and the blinding light
I am the still small voice that tells you what is wrong and what is right
I am the sacrificial lamb a guilty world reviled
I am the father ever waiting for his lost and wayward child

I AM
You cannot see me
I AM
The resurrection and the life, the doorway and the vine, I AM
I AM
You cannot touch me
I AM
The bread of life, light of the world, long before Abraham, I AM

I am the heart of the righteous desire and the fourth man you see in the midst of the fire
I am the giver of life and the promise of Israel
I am the hope of the lonely and lost in the blood running down to the foot of the cross
I am the breaking of chains and the tolling of freedom's bell
I am the notes that eternally ring in the music too holy for angels to sing
I am the fire on the altar consuming the sacrifice
I am the three and yet I am the one in the grace of the Father and death of the Son
I am the one who redeemed you by paying the highest price

I am grace and mercy, I am sacrifice
I am endless glory, I am light and life
I am long-awaited hope of Israel
I am longing sated, prophecy fulfilled

I am from the beginning of time, and I am sustaining the system of life
I am symmetry, reason and rhyme, and I am conviction that cuts like a knife

I am the author of order and flow
I am the Father of Lights: watch me put on a show!
I am the seeker of all gone astray
I am the keeper of souls 'til the end of all days

I am power, I am glory, I am love's unending story
I am justice, I am honor, I am hope and living water
I am righteous, I am holy, I am three and one and only
I am sovereign, I am faithful, everlasting, I AM that I AM

[Solo: Val]
[Harmonies: Val and Jon]

I am humility, the one who laid it all aside
Traded a crown of kings for a crown of thorns, betrayed by human pride
I am humanity, took on your curse and all your pain
I am divinity, eternity, forever I remain

I am your guilty scars, as Roman soldiers tear my back
I am the crimson stain that washes all the souls faded to black
I am the one who bled in silence and endured it all
I am the Word who spoke no word, with a thousand angels waiting for my call

I am your covenant
Your hero in these bloodstained pages
I am your guilt, your sin
Your debt fulfilled for all the ages
I step into your shoes, your substitute
Your sacrifice
Your raison d'etre
Your second chance
Your breath of life
I AM

I am the joy of angels dancing in the streets of heaven
I am the sinner's prayer for mercy and a past forgiven
I am the lamb upon the altar dying willingly
All hope that was
All hope that is
All hope to be
I AM

'I believe for new lungs,' new whatever you may need.
You say 'I need a new toenail, I need this, I need that.'
God is a God that restores all things, and everything is made whole in Jesus' name, from the top of your head to the soles of your feet. Believe big, believe for big today.
Believe for big.
Arms grow out, legs-- whatever you may need, I'm believing for.
A new leg:  if an octopus can grow a new leg, if a starfish can grow a new leg:
I'm greater than a starfish, I'm greater than an octopus-- I'm a child of the King.
There are things that I have dominion over, and if they have the ability to grow back new limbs,
I have the ability to grow back a new limb.
Believe for it.

Do you believe that, well, an octopus can do it?
Well, why can't you?
Why can't you?
You have the Greater One living on the inside of you.
He ain't living in an octopus, He ain't living in a starfish.
He's living inside of you.
And if God will do that for them, how much more are you?
...
How much more is He in you?  ...
If God would do it for a starfish, if God would do it for-- I've even seen worms grow back stuff... lizards grow back their tails.
If God grows back a lizard's tail, won't He grow back your arm, won't He grow back your finger, won't He grow back your toe?  ...
have a head of belief for big.
If God'll do it for them, how much more are you.
Glory to God.  ...
Thank you Lord, for you're the restorer.
Just like you restore all things... you're a restorer of all things. ...
I wonder if there's any animal that restores back any organs.
I believe it.
He's a restorer back of organs, He's a restorer back of eyes, He's a restorer back of ears.
He is a restorer.
So glory to God.
Well glory to God.
Thank you Lord, thank you Lord.

**According to *A Course in Miracles* (ACIM), you are not what the ego or the world tells you that you are.**

You are not a body. You are not a personality. You are not a separate, limited individual living in a world of time, space, and conflict. Those are all illusions—projections of the ego's mistaken belief in separation from God.

### The direct answer from the Course itself
In the Workbook for Students (Part II, section 14: "What Am I?"), the Course gives this clear, unequivocal statement of your true identity:

> **I am God's Son, complete and healed and whole, shining in the reflection of His Love.**
> In me is His creation sanctified and guaranteed eternal life. In me is love perfected, fear impossible, and joy established without opposite. I am the holy home of God Himself. I am the Heaven where His Love resides. I am His holy Sinlessness Itself, for in my purity abides His Own.
> And what I am guarantees eternal life for all creation, because all creation is what I am.

This is who you *really* are—God's one Son (the Christ, the Self), eternal, perfect, sinless, and at one with God and all creation. You have never left Heaven. You have never sinned. You have never been separate, guilty, or afraid. The "you" that seems to be here in a body is a temporary dream figure; your true Self has never changed and never will.

### Key points the Course repeats throughout
- **You are spirit, not body.** "I am not a body. I am free. For I am still as God created me." (This idea is drilled into the daily lessons.)
- **Your true Identity is shared.** There is only one Son of God; every seemingly separate "brother" is part of that one Self.
- **The ego is the false self.** It is the thought of separation that made the dream of a world and a personal "I." The miracle (a shift in perception) undoes the ego and reveals your real Identity.
- **You are Love itself.** Love is your nature because God is Love, and you are His extension. Fear, guilt, and sin are impossible in what you truly are.

The entire Course—Text, Workbook, and Manual—is a training program to help you remember this truth and stop identifying with the ego's tiny, fearful self-concept. When the Workbook asks "What am I?" it is inviting you to lay aside every false idea and let the answer be revealed by the Holy Spirit (or Jesus, the Course's voice).

In short:
**You are God's Son—complete, healed, whole, and forever at home in His Love.**
That is the answer *A Course in Miracles* gives. Everything else is just a mistaken dream from which you are awakening.

The ego- stimulated by the flesh- tries to explain our state of being.
The twisting of the truth to try and justify our weaknesses totally downplays our glorious future along with the concept of coming ages being plural and precisely planned.
Also doesn't recognise the work of Christ and his resurrection.

Page 280 — A more serious charge than ignorance of ecclesiastical history was later brought against Haeckel by Doctor Brass, namely, that he had fabricated evidence in support of his theory of evolution by falsifying his drawings of embryos, that he had, among other things, taken away vertebrae from the tail of a monkey embryo and had extended the backbone of a human embryo in order to enhance the resemblance.
Since accuracy is the soul of science, this is as serious as it would be, for instance, to charge a minister with preaching miracles when he does not believe in them.
In his reply Haeckel acknowledged
"that a small part of my numerous embryo pictures (perhaps six or eight per cent) are actually 'falsified' (in the sense of Doctor Brass), all those in fact in which the material at hand for observation was so incomplete or unsatisfactory that one was forced to fill up the gaps by hypothesis and to reconstruct the missing members by comparative synthesis in order to produce a connected chain of evolution."

Die Einheit der Natur und die Einheit der Wissenschaft.
Gott in der Natur.  451 ...

Nur diese Weltanschauung, welche Gottes Geist und Kraft in allen Naturerscheinungen erblickt, ist seiner allumfassenden Grösse würdig;

Gott ist allmächtig;
er ist der einzige Urheber, die Ursache aller Dinge, d. h. mit andern Worten: Gott ist das allgemeine Causalgesetz.
Gott ist absolut vollkommen, er kann niemals anders, als vollkommen gut handeln;

The Unity of Nature and the Unity of Science.
God in Nature. 451 ...
Our worldview recognizes only a single God, and this almighty God governs the entirety of nature without exception.
We perceive His agency in all phenomena without exception.
The entire inorganic realm of bodies is subject to Him, just as the entire organic realm is.
If every body in a vacuum falls 15 feet in the first second;
if, invariably, three atoms of oxygen combine with one atom of sulfur to form sulfuric acid;
if the angle formed by a columnar face of a rock crystal with its neighbor is always 120 degrees—
then these phenomena are just as much the immediate effects of God as are the blossoms of plants, the movements of animals, and the thoughts of human beings.
We are all "by the grace of God"—the stone just as much as the water, the radiolarian just as much as the spruce tree, the gorilla just as much as the Emperor of China.

Only this worldview—
which perceives God's spirit and power in all natural phenomena—
is worthy of His all-encompassing greatness;
only when we trace all forces and all phenomena of motion, all forms and properties of matter back to God as the Author of all things, do we attain that human conception and worship of God which truly corresponds to His infinite greatness.
For "in Him we live, and move, and have our being."
Thus, natural philosophy truly becomes theology.
The worship of Nature becomes that true form of divine service of which Goethe says:
"Indeed, there is no more beautiful worship of God than that which springs from the dialogue with Nature within our own hearts!"

God is omnipotent;
He is the sole Creator, the Cause of all things—
that is to say, in other words:
God is the universal Law of Causality.
God is absolutely perfect;
He can never act other than in a perfectly good manner;
consequently, He can never act arbitrarily or with free will—
that is, God is Necessity.
God is the sum of all forces, and therefore also of all matter.
Any conception of God that separates Him from matter posits against Him a sum of forces that are not of a divine nature;
every such conception leads to Amphitheism, and thus to Polytheism.

By demonstrating the unity inherent in all of Nature, Monism simultaneously shows that only one God exists, and that this God reveals Himself in all natural phenomena.
By grounding all the phenomena of organic and inorganic nature upon the universal Law of Causality—
and by demonstrating them to be the consequences of "efficient causes"—
Monism simultaneously shows that God is the necessary Cause of all things, and the Law itself.
By recognizing no forces within Nature other than the divine—
and by acknowledging all natural laws as divine—
Monism elevates itself to the greatest and most sublime conception of which man, as the most perfect of all animals, is capable:
the conception of the unity of God and Nature.

"What sort of God would merely push from the outside,
Letting the universe spin in a circle on His finger?
It befits Him to move the world from within,
To cherish Nature within Himself, and Himself within Nature,
So that all that lives and moves and has its being in Him
Never lacks His power, never lacks His spirit."
