Who else has see the '07 movie? Who else remembers the old cartoon?

I vaguely remember the cartoon as a kid. I did enjoy the '07 movie, though. If you can get past the awe of seeing giant robots from outer space duking it out, there are some admirable qualities about Optimus Prime. He's practically a robot knight!

I saw the movie and thought it was good. It was sort of a fun movie--it's nice to see one that's not meant to be taken so seriously. I also liked the offbeat sense of humor it had (hard to explain but you probably know what I'm talking about)... I'm a little too young for the cartoon though.  :happy3:

I own the entire original Transformer's Series :) It is not what I remember it was like when I was a kid. In any case, TRANSFORMERS is my favorite of all childhood experiences; so when the movie came out, it gave me goosebumps! Saw it 5 times in the theatre, I thought it was that good. I am a science-fiction nut. :)

I guess I was never a Transformer fan. However, the movie was Ok. I'm more of a Starwars, StarTrek person. In fact, I have been watching the old Star trek series with my kids on DVD. They love captain Kirk, the man who cheats death.  :laughing7:   Oh, to be a child again!  Although I see it a little more different than my 7 and 9 yr olds do, they are clueless as to Kirk being quite a ladys man.  :omg:

I guess it's another one that I was cheated out of seeing at the threatre 'cause the previews seemed underwhelming. :doh: :fool:  One of these days, I'll consistently abide by what's always proven true for me personally, that if the preview's impressive, perhaps a 50/50 or 40/60 that it'll be any good.  But if the preview really makes me roll my eyes, probably a 70% chance that I'll really like it if I give it a chance.  I was addicted to the cartoon as a kid, and I've seen it a few times as an adult and have always still liked it.  But the movie preview left me thinking "maybe when it hits the dollar and fifty cent theatres and if I have the time..."  And when I prejudge a movie like that, I'll seldom see it unless I'm with others and happen to be heading to the fifty cent and dollar movies anyway after goofing off all day.  When there's any question mark in my mind about how good a movie's going to be, I usually don't go unless I have someone to go with 'cause then the conversation afterwards for hours winds up being worth more than the price of the movie as we're reading meanings into the script and talking about the cinematography and special effects.
