From Fox News:

People in the world's most populous Muslim nation have been facing Africa — not Mecca — while praying.

Indonesia's highest Islamic body acknowledged Monday it made a mistake when issuing an edict in March saying the holy city in Saudi Arabia was to the country's west. It has since asked followers to shift direction slightly northward during their daily prayers.

"After a thorough study with some cosmography and astronomy experts, we learned they've been facing southern Somalia and Kenya," said Ma'ruf Amin, a prominent cleric of the Indonesian Ulema Council, or MUI. "We've revised it now to the northwest."

Oops.  Missed it by that much.   :laughing7:

(I know, I know, it's mean.  Don't smack me.  It's just such a funny visual.  All those rear ends pointing the wrong direction.)

Amazing you wrote that, Jab.

There is a park across the street from my house and yesterday they had a tent/rummage sale there.

I was on my porch watching the people when one man approached a tree, spread out his prayer mat and went through his Muslim motions for a few minutes.

But, the first thing that hit me was that he was facing much too far north.

I live on the Jersey Shore and he was pointing more to Britain than Mecca.

Maybe those little mats should be sold with a compass sewn in, apparently they don't know the WAY!

Funny Dave.  :laughing7:

Maybe we could suggest the "compass" of John 3:16 be printed on their mats.

:cloud9: Too funny.... :laughing7:  I tell you one thing, though, God is sovereignly starting to save some of them, appearing to them in dreams and in visions. I just re-posted one man's amazing testimony on FB this last week.

He was with Hezbollah, caught, put in prison, taught Islam while he was in there, UNTIL the Lord appeared to him and he asked Him what His name was. That man was a crying mess, he couldn't even get thru his youtube video, he was so overcome for the what the Lord had done for him.

I've always said, when their devotion to idols is turned, they will be just as on fire for the Lord, this time in a good way. Blessings...

Why didn't they study it before the edict in March?
Instead of those experts they just could have used a 50ct map
But they are always facing down. So the direction is not completly wrong.

Beloved Servant

It's memorized, repetitive "prayer" with no fire or perfume, still air in an empty censor.

I see, there is a scripture about that somewhere, where Jesus says something in the region of they think by their much repitions they will be heard, instead pray like this. Our father who art in heaven.

KJVMat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

I wish I did pray more like the muslims, their discipline is incredible.

But concering that prophecy, I did not write it but I think it means that the spirit of Jesus will be poured upon them behind closed doors, not in a public place such as a mosque, only to various individuals. This is not impossible as many Christians pray for Muslims to receive a revelation of Jesus and since there are very little missionaries in Arabia, then appearing in their dreams is a good way for Jesus to reach out to them. :2c:

good find with the scripture.
