In case you don't know, the dino in the pix is called "Philosoraptor."

Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

"Is this going to take all day?"

...alright, your a science guy, what do you know about the terahedron?

lomarah

Okay what is this about the tetrahedron? I'm super curious here.

Lazarus Short

I know it's the basic unit of spatial geometry, and the universe is built on tetrahedral geometry.  It is also very important in hyperdimensional physics.

thank you...is this the branch of science that is actually proving God's existance?

Lazarus Short

I you mean that the universe is orderly, regular, and mathematically interpretable, then yes, it tends to prove the existence of God.  The orderliness, regularity, and mathematics I see in the text of the Bible is sufficient for me.

me too,Laz. Holy spirit is very capable teacher. :iagree:

Lazarus Short

So, why did you bring up the tetrahedron, in particular?

the tetragrammaton or tetrahedron?

There is no proof that God exists,
There is no proof that God doesn't exist.

There are evidences, but evidence is not proof :Peace2:

Lazarus Short

I know lots of evidence, but what do you consider proof?

Yes, we were discussing the tetrahedron.

Proof is pretty much a geometry/math thing but also
a proof is any testable, repeatable, and observable phenomena with the same results
each test. Like Gravity.

So...Creation, God, anything supernatural, one time historical events, anything
that cannot meet the criteria of testable, observable, repeatable is not proof.

I.E. Fingerprints on a knifeblade will "prove" a certain person touched the knife but does NOT prove
that person committed the murder.  "A preponderance of the evidence" is the best we can hope for
on many things.

right ded2...evidence would have been a better word than proof.

Laz, I had a dream vision with them moving in formation in the heavens, along with the locusts

plague and fifth seal opened.  and never understood what they signified

eaglesway

I had a couple of similar visions. Triangular shapes moving in formation high up in the night sky.

I also saw in a vision, over four or five consecutive nights, a great sphere, swirling with colors, almost like a moon or a planet, coming closer and closer to the earth. It was awesome and beautiful.

sheila, I saw reports, with photos on several places of the www, showing a tetrahedral "thing" over Moscow, not too long ago.  Triangular, black, things are being seen all over, is the www reports are to be believed.

EDIT

The last few posts remind me of something I wrote back in the 1970's (before I became a Christian):

MELANICUS
(poem excerpted from The Book of the Damned)

the Prince of Dark Bodies:  Melanicus
most likely one of the spores of the Evil One
sun spot, maybe
he obscures a star - he shoves a comet

vast black thing like a crow
poised over the moon
the things have been seen
also...their shadows

one looks up at the sky - consternation
its concomitants:  lights in the sky
fall of  a black substance
shocks like those of an earthquake
"panic seized the whole city"

throttle and disregard the howls of the planets
vast and black
the thing that was poised like a crow over the moon

round and smooth cannon balls
things that have fallen from the sky to this earth
our slippery brains
things like cannon balls have fallen in storms upon this earth
like cannon balls are things that in storms have fallen to this earth
showers of blood
showers of blood
showers of blood

Note:  Charles Fort's The Book of the Damned  was just about the first book to explore strange phenomena, which conventional viewpoints sought to damn to the memory hole – thus the title.  I found while reading through hundreds of pages of rather turgid prose, occasional flashes of poetry.  I lifted some, and put them together here in a way that pleases me, to make another found poem.  DD 03-28-2011
