Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
1 John 4:7-8

I used to think God would just give us things we needed without necessarily allowing a struggle. But later realized that a loving parson actually ignores certain sufferings  to some extent. . . but we also pray "leadus not into temptaion"...... although I don't know what else to ask God for... I was told to  NOT love people [whom  I  'don't know' ] by a parent.... and soon after being told that I asked what was meant, and the reply was something like, "I don't remember ever telling you anything like that..."  :Chinscratch:  that was an odd situation.... maybe that meant jus' love people i DO know only.....????  :dunno2:

so I'm NOT tryin' to "love" anyone here ok.... jus' chattin' and trying to remain in proper conduct.
I will pray about things because    I can't, and. am-not ,   going to do God's job for Him.

little off topic but I realized it's not the best method to be a SHEEP in wolve's clothing ............. jus' call me a brown-sheep who tried to scare a wolf one day.... er...

ok so...... now what to talk 'bout. . . . . .  :Chinscratch:

we fermented some cabbage one day. . . . tasted great but stomach couldn't take it any further. . . .

Here is a favorite of mine.

1 Corinthians 13
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.

I memorized it in the NIV many years ago.  It changes my head when I need it.

Another way to read it is "God is patient, God is kind............

A very benificial way to recite it is "I am patient, I am kind, I don't envy, I don't boast, I am not proud, I am not rude, I am not self-seeking, I am not easily angered, I keep no record of wrongs, I don't delight in evil, I rejoice in the truth, I always protect, I always trust, I always hope, I always persevere........I never fail".

Fermented cabbage is good.....................wife wants to make some kimchi.

Great advice Ed   to Bluejay!

we have fresh cabbage out of the garden right now  and making slaw  , I will let the fermenting  work in my stomach  lol...
canning season   right now is  some  stressful ..  too busy  right now, the  vegetables do not wait  on anything or anyone ..

I know you are supposed to love God first  and your neighbor  as yourself ..  the greatest command  given .  HOW ?

The weird thing to me is   , when I first started to   seek God , I  would  wonder  how do I do this ?

Where is God? who is God ?  why is God so mysterious ? Why so far away ?   Mind you    this was  all thought my teens and twenties.

Than come to find out in scripture I discovered in Acts 17  He is not far away ,  and   HE IS  NEAR '' IN YOUR HEART ''

Wow ! I did not know that  , why didn't someone say so ?

It took a tragedy     someone I loved as myself     ,it was my baby brother    died  and     real prayers and answers needed because I was  worried about him , noy myself and those selfish little prayers that seem to silly today    , Like you said wanting and needing things   to happen   to make life easier    not BETTER ..

This was the beginning of a spiritual awaking  at 25  of really trying to know God the true one  not the one  created in my carnal mind .

Love was the reason  , not self love , but real love for someone else  and their benefit    , I began to  seek God though this new awakening      needing some

answers to    rest because you do not have any rest or   real peace  of mind   before   GOD comes   alive in you

Its just something you hear about from others   and faith come by hearing  , so I did believe in God  , just did not know God on a personal level     yet .

Gods power was not real to me yet   ,,  the power to change things  by prayer  to Him   .

I tried to  read the bible   but it was all so foreign  , like another language  or something  , it made no sense to my carnal mind   at all .

And all I had was this carnal mind to work with    , and we know the carnal mind is a enemy   against the Spirit  , the Holy ONE ,

So the real struggle begins   within you , I  found out  a will   and   having a strong will is a desire   ...   and it is carnal   by nature . ugh! :sigh:

That always suppresses the Spiritual in  nature   , Being Gods  desire for all mankind , I did not know that!!!!!

GOD IS LOVE and that nature   and the LORD JESUS CHRIST was not developed within me yet ...  the Christ seed /Word of God   was not planted in my heart or growing  in truth and grace  , and this was the  hardest part of ALL    so far and by far ...   and even trying to understand  any of it , there was no pleasure nor choices in that  battle  of wills !  till Jesus come to   make a way where there was no way !!!     Having to   tear down all them ''strongholds ''   this life was about  in my own mind was  His victory   , I remember   after    that   the first time I  read the bible  and it  moved  me    , I got it  and the flood of emotions of    being humbled and  thankful and  joy , yes   JOY !!   like wow !    this is amazing   it was in Isaiah   and I could not believe it !

Gods will be done  Strong's G2307 - thelēma
θέλημα
Transliteration
thelēma
Pronunciation
the'-lā-mä (Key)

Part of Speech
neuter noun
Root Word (Etymology)
From the prolonged form of θέλω (G2309)

what one wishes or has determined shall be done

of the purpose of God to bless mankind through Christ

of what God wishes to be done by us

commands, precepts

will, choice, inclination, desire, pleasure

Choices and pleasure ???

WOW ! they were contrary to Gods

Well this started a hunger and thirst in me to  understand seek , knock and ask   Gods help in everything !!

I thought if   us being evil know how to give good gifts to our children   How much more would the heavenly Father give good gifts of the Holy Spirit to us ,,,,

I was and am still amazed    , I believe with all my heart  and might prayer changes things if Gods will is being Done  on earth as it is in heaven  ,  the   realm of the heavens  is   real   and   becomes more than you could ever hope for   because God changes things and  us !!

God bless you Blue jay!!   :HeartThrob:
Jesus is the reward  !!

bluejay

I give thanks.

" . . . for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure."
Philippians  2:13

seems as though there is a type of "good pleasure". . . Finding out what that means kind of is fun to think about.
. . .
ie how do you grow your cabbage? Ours keeps groowing too slowly and then becomes caterpillar infested . . . resulting in a tiny crop.

l'm just trying to do what my parent told me. . . "Don't love people you don't know", I was told...........
(so I'm only kind of "half loving-indirectly", occupying my mind with forum chat . . .)
rules are rules

but maybe I'm a bit of a stickler. A "patriot to the Lord"? Maybe I'm too extreme?

message doesn't seem hateful does it? hope not......

So I'm trying to figure out what that "good pleasure" is. . . and how to get it.

bluejay

ooh . . .   .  so catchy . . . .    .

Colossians 3
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

Charity is old English for love.

But.....................................................It is God that is working in you!
.........................................both to will
.........................................and to do of His good pleasure.

It is a joint venture between you and God.  The Smallest things done in love, are pleasing to God and they are inspired by God.  Every aspect of our life infused with the love of God is pleasing not only to God, but to us, we find it to be the most fulfilling and enjoyable way to live.

The song reminds me of photos I've seen over the years, like this:

Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

So it IS possible to reach that size. . .

cabbage, broccoli,  almost all the same to me.

for a change in topic,
I want to see passages about people having problems from wrong form of worship. a good condensed summary would be quite quaint.

acts 12:22-23
And the people kept shouting, "The voice of a god and not of a man!"
Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.

I want to see a passage saying that 'we will never be God.'
Because I was recently influenced by certain false (and evil) Asian beliefs and am in the process of attempting to 'put a rubber stopper on it as it's really causing me some annoyance. If you who happen to be reading this are quite sensitive to this topic I suggest to quit reading this thread. Just my suggestion.

Buddha is like a joke, it's all about seclusion and little rocks floating around his head until he vanishes from existence.

But God making all things that He made with a purpose and a place, is compelling. In love with the concept, yet has been a struggle believing that such immense kindness exists even to such a benevolent extent.
It's awesome to have a kind God as He is such.

just realized my posts seemed scattered in thought... I don't know how to change that, hope you don't mind.

guys, what do u do when u love someone too much? You annoy them accidentally. I like to call it a heart-spank. Cuz' it hurts and reminds me of the depths of Smell. Will God help me? I do lack something. It's called utter perfection. I'm actually PinkPoodle, was pretending to be so that people might have compassion on me and pray for me. But I keep worrying about these tears people think are fake. Like what do I do? Who is this idiot on this page?

Will anyone pray, or will it make things worse, like maybe? I try to seek help. But I FEEL like some one else is trying to stop that from happening.

well said,Laz.  BJ...sounds like he is going through 'a dark night of the soul".  Many of us here have also went through it.

as bad as it is..it serves a wonderful purpose. It forces us to go deeper and reach higher.

like the fig tree that hasn't bore fruit....an angel may 'dung' the tree......when that happens..our lives seem to go to 'c*ap"

.............thus..the roots dig deeper..the branches reach up higher to heaven...and fruit can be bore.

Come all ye that thirst..and take of the water of life free!!   old saying 'you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make

him drink" God will/does bring us to dry places to create that thirst...that He may quench it.

the love of a mother..does not smother.......give him room to breathe..and stand/stick by.  :friendstu:

ps  wisdom is rarely associated with youth and beauty.........how is it that you know the remedy is joy in the Lord?  :HeartThrob:

Will God help me? I do lack something. It's called utter perfection.

You actually don't lack in utter perfection.  You have it in Jesus Christ.  We all do.  That is why we cling to this utter perfection, so that we can enjoy the fruit of it.  The fruit is spiritual, but it does help with the physical since we are being so blessed with it.

The best way to get clarity- as corny as it may sound, is to read the  Psalms and the gospels(Matt. Mk. Lk. Jn.) and pray a lot.

sometimes "I am lost, please help me find my way' is all that we can pray.... and it is enough- He will come as the gentle shepherd and bring us to safe pastures

:dsunny: :HeartThrob:    ONE   SEED  IS  CHRIST  Gal 3 ;16  The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say "and to seeds," meaning many people, but "and to your seed," meaning one person, who is Christ.

God hears your prayers, bluejay. We see the tapestry of our lives, from the side where all the threads are crossed and confusing. God sees it from the side of the picture that it is true and lovely.

Hi, it's been a while and I've come back.
I think I've found the answer.

Colossians 1:15
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

I was wondering why, but when I finally decided to forget about the matter, then my mind would act 'weird'. And something would try to force/tempt me to remember the past again. (which obviously I was told to not be obsessive about this matter. . . which makes sense) At first I thought it was "God trying to tell me something", but now I realize my mind was acting unbecoming and stupid to me for some moments, I have even just "hallucinated" (while waking from a light nap) that I was back in the past, and then heard a 'stupid sounding screech' at the end of the dream like my mind was trying to tell me "why didn't you sin instead!?". So I think my mind is confused about God and trying to "pretend a vision" as to "gain my attention" although it seemed a bit of a pathetic attempt, which is a good thing I guess, because now I know it's not a vision, but a vivid dream. . .  :dunno2:  donno, my mind seems pretty stupid sometimes. . .

ie I know this is trivial but does anyone here grow southernwood? I think it wards away moths and other insects.
