I guess its important to note that the host does know where the prize is, and is always forced to open a non-prize door (obviously he wouldn't open the door that had the prize and then ask you to switch).

If he doesn't know where the prize is how can he be forced to open the non prize door?

Isn't there another better example like this, e.g flip a dice or coin x amount of times in a row that shows the odds factor?

The host does know where the prize is.  I think if you just google "monty hall puzzle" you will find lots of examples and explanations.
