This made me think of our attitude towards others that have wronged us.
How do we react?

I don't remember where I got the germ of this idea, but the dog was given to us by God to demonstrate for us the proper attitude:  dog-to-man (and then hopefully) man-to-God.  Maybe there is a reason why "dog" is "god" spelled backward.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

I believe so, Laz. Snoopy, the dog in the UR comic strip Peanuts seems to be.

Which proves two things.  One, only English speaking dogs are religious, and B, I'm getting closer to God because I have started eating the cereal right out of the bowl without using a spoon, and don't care how messy it makes my shirt.  Dog-gone-it (or as we say in Canine dag-nab-it) I knew there was growth here.

Be careful there, VB, for there is little that a dog won't eat.

For health, I had to switch from chips to unsweetened cereal that I don't even pour into a bowl - just straight from the box

Speaking of chips, did you ever try my bean dip recipe?

This thread has become a dog's breakfast.

Bean dip and cereal? :laughing7:
I'm kinda like a chipoholic Laz - if i eat a couple, I'll eat the whole bag. Let's see 1500 cals for the bag and about 600 for the dip and I'd have an entire days supply! I'm weak - would you pm it to me? or just post it here again? :friendstu:

[Actually, I may have been thinking of another site where I did post it, but as long as I've mentioned it here...and yes, it is addictive.]

Laz's Post-Missouri Bean Dip

Now who put the "dip" in the "Dip-da-dip-da-dip"?
I did!

Here's the backstory on this dip. Years ago, there was a little eatery in the Waldo area of south Kansas City called Sancho's. Among other dishes, they served an appetizer called "Chilie Con Queso," which was a concoction of beans, cheese, and chips. I loved it so well, I noted what it seemed to contain and tried to reproduce it at home. After a while I was making it just like Sancho's, but after moving to New Mexico, I tried it once again. My wife made suggestions, and it underwent refinements. Most importantly, ingredients improved, and the taste got hotter, but better. Now, I have got it so well down that I can offer a recipe, as follows:

6 cups canned or cooked pinto beans, undrained
1 4oz can of diced green chilies
1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon of ground chipotle chilie
3/4 – 1 cup of salsa (cook's choice)
1 –2 cups shredded cheese
1 bouillon cube (cook's choice) Laz uses tomato/chicken
other spices/seasonings to taste
a little water if too thick

heat the lot in a saucepan, on low heat for the sake of the cheese
mash contents or (recommended) use a hand blender

enjoy!
