Gary shared that he has a burden to get the Good News into some foreign languages and foreign lands - as well as spread God's message of His love for all and intent to save all even further in the U.S.

A few thoughts he shared;  there are probably folks who'd really like to get more involved, that perhaps just aren't sure how to do so.  If there's anyone that has computer skills, video skills, editing, etc., there may be a task that needs done that your skills/gifts fit just perfectly as your ministry offering to YHWH's glory.  Gary said he'd participate in this thread, and he can share more of his thoughts, and folks can interact with him about ministry ideas and opportunities.  I'll be sending him this link.

Thanks warhawk.  Maybe Gary will come on tomorrow and tell us more what he has in mind.  I'd guess that about anyone who has a real heart to help, there'd be something they could do.   :thumbsup:

Hi, everyone. I just uploaded a short video about what Tentmaker Ministries is all about. I know some folks here recently asked that  I say something. It's entitled "About Tentmaker." The url is too long to put in here, it will break up. (Don't know how to do a tiny url.)

Anyway, as Jim was saying, technically, things are getting more and more complicated for me. I've prayed for some time for a highly skilled computer whiz with web design, editing, graphics skills would come along and give  us a big push forward. We have been trying to redesign the Tentmaker site for a long time (since the hack) and we haven't gotten very far. The Tentmaker Resources store is still not set up right.

As I am writing, it sounds like I am whining. I bought recently a little plaque I hung over my computer monitor in my office which reads "Thou Shalt Not Whine." Well, I've been doing a LOT of whining lately and this is sounding like one of my whining sessions. Argh!!!

Jim mentioned my desire to get the Victorious Gospel into more language groups. This message is basically non-existent in most other languages. We've put a LOT of material on the internet in English, but we need to get more articles and books and videos into other major languages, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Arabic, Russian, etc. We need to figure out how to get things translated and then into the search engines of foreign countries. It's time! We have some material in a dozen or so languages, but it's a pittance. Oh, gee, no spell checker here? Argh. I'm tired, gonna call it a night. Go check out the "About Tentmaker" video on youtube and we'll talk more tomorrow about how to get the truly Good News into all the world.

Google has the abilty to translate sites, I don't kno to what extent or if there is a cost. Perhaps a streamlined presentation of the Victorious gospel could be translated automatically by Google. I will look into it and report back.

Mod note - I've asked Gary to advise on what words he's OK with or not being mis-spelled on the forum to get around the automatic built-in forum "swear word censor" (if he wants it left on at all).  That censor has apparently been a part of the forum set-up for many years, prior to mine or any of the other current mods coming on, and we need direction so the mods know how to proceed.  So I've asked Gary to let us know.  Thanks, James.

Google translator is awful - just saying. I took German for 5 years with 3 different instructors, and they all warned us not to use google translator ever because of how inaccurate it is. Now of course being stupid and stubborn, I used it a few times anyways, and every time I used it, my work had a ton of mistakes.  :doh: So we should avoid google at all costs.

I will watch the second video tomorrow. I would now, but it's late, and I have to get up early for work in the morning.

Hi, folks, apparently my last video got some attention I didn't really want bring about. Cussing. There is a place of legalism regarding cussing and there is a place of licentiousness and poor taste using cussing. I could go into the Bible in the Hebrew and pull up some pretty distasteful language. Our English texts have cleaned up some of the originals. I did an audio tape years ago entitled "Christian Cussin." It dealt with words like "damn." If one damns someone to Hell, that's acceptable but if one uses it in the secular sense it's a cuss word. Well, that's hypocrisy, plain and simple. I'm sure this site would be best served if we all speak intelligently and mindful of other people. When barriers are dropped, there is a tendency for some to go hog-wild.  Let's not. Paul said all things were lawful for him but not all things are profitable. A repeated use of foul language or cussing here would not serve the community. Let's tame our tongues. And if someone wants to call me a hypocrite for using what some people would call a cuss word, that's ok.

Now how about some people opening up here for ways to speak the Victorious Gospel. Here's an email I got today:
The first time I encountered truths about hell and God's plan to save all people was in 2002. I was reading J Preston Eby's Savior of the World. It turned all my understanding of the gospel upside down. For three years I set out to disprove it by going to the church library and looking up all references in Strong's concordance and various NT Greek dictionaries. Now I am satisfied that the victorious gospel of Jesus Christ (as presented by Tentmaker and other friendly websites) is the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth. It has made me love God more than I loved Him before. Liben

Someone had to take the time and spend the money to get that set of booklets to Ethiopia. That set of books were what brought be back to believing in universal salvation. Eby sent those booklets to a preacher near me who gave them to me. You see, it takes bodies, it takes people to spread the Good News. And there are thousands of ways available for us to do so.
