What most convinces me

The thing that most convinces me of the truth of Universal Restoration and Redemption (besides ample bible verses) is logic. Number one being that God is Perfect. Any doctrine which doesn't reflect the fact that He can only be utterly Perfect, cannot be true. If God were not only excellent, then even He, Himself could not endure (being imperfect)..
- The 'end' result of all this (life as we know it, and all of history) can only be the very best one possible. Anything else is impossible. Because God can only be (and is) utterly Perfect, and part of that Perfection is all (His) Powerfulness.
- But this too, in my opinion, can be applied to any idea or doctrine no matter how near and dear, or how entrenched or weaved into our perceptions or faith it may be. If something cannot stand up to the truth - God is Perfect - it cannot be true.

I also think that UR is extremely convincing logically speaking. ET is absolutely ridiculous logically speaking. Annihilation makes a little more sense, but then the question arises, "If God wants all men to be saved, then didn't he make it happen?" UR is the only one that answers that question. God wants all men to be saved, so he WILL save all men. Also makes sense from Loving Father. My father would not annihilate me, and if my Heavenly Father is perfect I can't expect him to either. Father's discipline. They don't annihilate.

I agree 100%. That's why I always had such a problem with an eternal hell. It is completely illogical that an all good and all powerful God would need such a place.

Glenda, think what this universe would be like it God really were like the God of Christendumb? We could never rely on Him for anything. He would always need PR men (ministers) trying to make Him look good. He and His Son would forever be failures.
I am thankful He is perfect!

I feel that there is great irony in the fundaMENTAList church calling those, like myself, who believe in Universal Salvation heretics. I simply believe in a few simple things about God...
1) God is Sovereign over ALL THINGS.
2) ALL means ALL.
3) No one comes to the Father accept through Jesus Christ.
4) Some day, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
5) God wills that ALL(see #2) men shall be saved and come to a full knowledge of the truth (1 Tim 2:4).
6) When God WILLS something to be done, it WILL be done !!!(see #1).
We only disagree upon the timing and location of this repentance unto salvation.

I believe that God will do what He said He will do...... and they call me the heretic???  :mshock:

Glenda, God is perfect and even though we may be persecuted and even shunned for our beliefs, remember that God's perfect love casts out all fear.
