Hello all. I was having a discussion with my younger family brother and asked the question

"does God love those he sends to everlasting hell?" his answer was yes He does and I answered what kind of love is that! he called it PERFECT love.

i will tell you the evil i felt all around me was an evil i have never felt before. i started trembling and then God brought many scriptures to me to comfort me from this answer i was given by my brother. He assured me He is LOVE.

to even talk about this sends shivers all over me. I think maybe satan is trying to rob me of my joy.

my brother then proceeded to tell me I believe a false doctrine and was being deceived by satan. when actually it is just the opposite. since the day God opened my eyes and ears to his salvation for all people, satan has been fighting me all the way on this. satan does not like it one bit that i now know the TRUTH and want to tell many about it. it is  lonely and being hated for the TRUTH of the REAL GOSPEL of JESUS CHRIST. I know Christ is with me and he will never leave me or forsake me.

It is evident that love wouldn't - COULDN'T inflict the worst of evil (eternal torture) upon anyone (especially It's own creations forever.) As you rightly agree: 'that is NOT what love is/does'.  To think contrary is ignorance and spiritual infancy at it's lowest.  However, I suggest you must strive to deal with your brother in the best way possible for the best outcome possible...  Though; it is up to each individual what they choose to believe and do with their lives.

Yes it's evil alright, and God/Love in you/The Holy Spirit/Spirit of Truth (the 'whole'/'right attitude') has convicted you of this.
The mainstream/worldly (so-called): 'church' endeavours to: 'save' us - yet it is they themselves who need saving, yet are blind; essentially calling love hate.
I strive to: 'open the eyes of the blind' (when I may)... But gently instructing.  (And this is FAR more difficult and complex when it involves family)...

"A prophet is nowhere less honoured, than in his own country, and among his relations, and his own family".  (Mark 6:4).

Also. - If someone is locked up in stubborness (to God's will) (at the present time); it may be that we have to let them be for now?  We may have to shake the dust from our feet and walk away at certain times? - Since who is our: 'brother' really but those doing the will of God?
Maybe another believer will eventually win your brother over to the truth?

Satan being the adversary - (the (d)evil to GOoD).  But the One in you is stronger than the one in the world.

Yes; the opposite. - Satan utterly twisting truth.  You have eyes to see this.

If I were in your situation...
Every person needs dealt/spoken with differently, - which is why Paul became - 'all things to all people'.  Perhaps you, yourself then - know the best way to handle this situation/communciate with your brother.
Sometimes it seems that only the Lord can open the eyes of certain people, and what the Lord leads me to do is walk as He walked - leading by example... Being the evidence of the One (Love) in us; since faith without works is DEAD.
Action therefore is my suggestion. - Letting people see your good works.  Being a 'light'.
'Eventually' everyone will: 'come around', (but in their own class, and at their own time), so I say with utmost conviction and confidence: "Don't be worried or upset about anything"... Certain people may not love God (yet), but God (love) loves them.

It is far better to be hated for telling the truth than for not.  And if we remain in God we will never be lonely or forsaken... Even if the whole world rejects us.

G'day Bob,
I have one brother who has his masters of divinity.
My other brother is into spiritual warfare.
My sister has a degree in psychology.
We all grew up in Baptist Church.
Many years I agreed and thought those lines.
No longer.
I had no say in my change of thinking: I thank God that His mercy and plan opened my eyes, ears, and heart.
Paul points out he had no say in his conversion.
Jesus points out many will do miracles, cast out demons, using Jesus name for power  - yet He says He never knew them.
All will come to know Christ- each in their own time.
Many will learn this in the ages to come.
We can live as examples. Yet their conversion is not up to us.
For me, I will answer questions,  talk about Jesus, but only when lead, and only from the heart so that I cannot take credit for anything.
1 Corinthians 15:10
Jesus was  crucified.
Steven was stoned.
Paul was whipped, stoned,
They were focussed on the things to come and knew the true love of God through Christ alone.

thank you Ross and GodSavesALL for your words and this is a great help to me. I did try to get him to read Eby's savior of the world series and he read about half the first writing in that series a right away my brother went into attack mode. God had put it in my heart to share that with him and if he could have continued to keep reading my brother would see what God had revealed to me many years ago.

My brother rejected it and made comments that Eby was deceived and was claiming a false doctrine.

also i have decided that i would have to shake the dust off my feet and walk away.

my brother also is very pompous and self righteous, not to mention he can be very unthankful-thoughtless at times. my brother, at different times, tried to cause division between my wife and I when visiting from Florida. of course i did not know this until my wife told me after he had left. bless her heart that she waited to tell me because it could have gotten ugly.

again thank you both for your words of encouragement.

I pray for him and ask God to help me love him.

Thank you Bob.

Humanity is generally silly/foolish and immature (and we all were/are at some point(s)).  We must never get too conceited as to ever overlook the possible plank in our own eye.
We must forgive people for foolish actions, just as we ourselves were/are forgiven for foolish actions.
People behaving foolishly are: 'children' (spiritual infants), and we all are children/learning to an extent. - (probably more-so than most would care to admit).  We must deal with: 'children' as children; gently 'correcting' them to the best of our ability (and with their benefit in mind - yet for the best outcome for all) - in love (just as we ourselves prefer to be dealt with), - (respectfully and not condescending (as if we are better than they) - but humbly in all meekness)).
If foolish: 'children' had adequate understanding they would not be foolish - thus; they would not: 'crucify' the Lord Of Glory, but they cannot see (yet), - and we cannot make them see in darkness - only with Light.  And therefore we must strive always to do the Lord's will - bringing light to them, being patient about it as seeds take root and fruit develops.
If we respond lovingly to other's: 'irrationality' as the Lord wills... We pile coals upon heads - the 'fire' that contributes to purification.  But if we respond unlovingly... We make matters worse.
So many are concerned with 'knowledge' ... But Love is greater.

I write all this in hope that you will do well by your precious brother.

In His Love.  :HeartThrob:

you are absolutely correct. i had this same thought that i too acted in some ways the same. had the same beliefs as he before God opened my eyes and ears which i am so thankful for.  i love my brother and he loves me(so he says).

like i stated earlier i pray for him and know if and when God brings him to the TRUTH his whole attitude will change and he would become a new creation in Christ Jesus and  old things will pass and new things will happen.

it is sad that he really does not know the true love of God and i pray God will reveal that to him. i can't help but thinking that he does not know the joy and change that the true love of God would and can do for him. I know the change that God has and is doing in me and i want that for my brother.

thank you Brother in Christ for your words.
