All true, of course.  Translation is key.

Many will go away into what Jesus called, kolosin aionion - punishment/discipline for an age (aion, often incorrectly translated as "eternal" or "forever").   Jesus said "few stripes/many stripes" and "won't be released until the last farthing is paid".   

Whatever discipline they need until "every knee bows and every tongue confesses Jesus is Lord".

Here's a section I'm quoting from the above article

"universalists do not translate Heb. olam or Gr. aion/aionios/aionion as ?eternal? or ?everlasting.? Rather, these words mean ?age-pertaining,? often with overtones of significant gravity or broad domain.

This determination proceeds from the variety of olams in the Bible that do not refer to everlasting things, and from the fact that many of these olams are brought across, in the Greek Septuagint, as aion/aionios/aionion.

Isaiah 63:11 (portion)

From Hebrew: ?His people of Moses of the old [Heb. olam] days, he remembered.?
From Septuagint: ?And he remembered days of old [Gr. aionion]; the bringing up from the land the shepherd of the sheep.?
Genesis 6:4 (portion)

From Hebrew: ?In those days in the earth were Nephilim, renowned men of old [Heb. olam], mighty men.?
From Septuagint: ?Those were giants, ones from the eon [Gr. aionos], renowned men.?
Isaiah 42:14 (portion)

From Hebrew: ?I have been still for a length [Heb. olam], held my peace.?
From Septuagint: ?I kept silent from the eon [Gr. aionos], shall I also continually keep silent and endure??

the Greek word 'aionion' (αἰώνιον) mistranslated as 'eternal' in Mt 25 vs 41 appears extensively in the Septuagint, the translation used in Jesus time.In many instances it does NOT mean eternal e.g.Genesis 17:13   
περιτομῇ περιτμηθήσεται ὁ οἰκογενὴς τῆς οἰκίας σου καὶ ὁ ἀργυρώνητος καὶ ἔσται ἡ διαθήκη μου ἐπὶ τῆς σαρκὸς ὑμῶν εἰς διαθήκην αἰώνιον (aionios )
Genesis 17:13   He who is born in your house, and he who is bought with your money, must be circumcised. My covenant will be in your flesh for an everlasting (aionios ) covenant.
Circumcision is not eternal so aionion doesnt neccessarily mean eternal.Theres MANY more examples of 'aionion' in the LXX not meaning eternal. eg.Gn 48:4   καὶ εἶπέν μοι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ αὐξανῶ σε καὶ πληθυνῶ σε καὶ ποιήσω σε εἰς συναγωγὰς ἐθνῶν καὶ δώσω σοι τὴν γῆν ταύτην καὶ τῷ σπέρματί σου μετὰ σὲ εἰς κατάσχεσιν αἰώνιον
Gn 48:4   and said to me, ?Behold, I will make you fruitful, and multiply you, and I will make of you a company of peoples, and will give this land to your seed after you for an everlasting possession.? Obviously the land of Canaan isnt given for eternity as theres a new heaven n earth.'aionios or aionion is the transliteration of 'olam' which means over the horizon n beyond..or hidden..or something that lasts as long as it lasts.
