I got all this from the link above this.

41. David also said, not less than twenty-six times, in that part of his meditations embraced in the 136th Psalm, "his mercy endureth forever." What kind of a mercy is the mercy of God, which is to endure forever: it is a universal mercy. See the next section.

42. He also declared, that that mercy which is to endure forever, is over all the works of God. "The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all his works." (Psalms 145:9) God is the same, yesterday, today, and forever.

This has always made me think eternal torment is fake.

Coming to a realization that God doesn't torture anyone, ever is really the first step in knowing God, (since knowing God/what love is; is the: 'beginning' of wisdom).

Psalm 103:12 " As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our sins from  us."
Romans 5:9 " Much more then, being  now justified by His blood,  we shall be saved from  punishment through Him. "
Not eternal punishment,  but correction by Him.

I fell away years back.
The return process has been... Painful.

Now I know what the Scriptures mean by:
"Remember the Lord in your Youth".  And:
"Seek Him early". (Etc).

...The longer we continue in our own way, - the more we are entrapped by the adversary in sins; and the the more painful does the process become to return to God.
We become harder and stubborn and God has to go beyond all that to break us back down to build us back up.

Ouch.
And I love Him for it.

No discipline is pleasant at the time, Hebrews 12:11 , but yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.
He knows what He is doing.
The flesh can be as stubborn as the proverbial mule.

It's getting to that point where Jesus is all one wants and needs, - everything else: 'rubbish' in comparison.
He suffices. - Things that once were problems are not, we rise to the challenge - the prize.
Sins, fears and things that prevented melt away.
We have such a great expectation - even beyond this world's evils and physical demise.
We know the Truth and have a solid footing.
We have rest in storms, light in darkness...  :gimmefive:

We have such a great expectation, how true.

Romans 8:19 from the "A Conservative Version"
ACV(i) 19 For the eager expectation of the creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God.
3 John 4 - I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
