Isa 24:19  The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.

Isa 24:20  The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

Isa 24:21  And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.

Isa 24:22  And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.

I thought this was interesting but for now just have thoughts on what these scriptures mean, Would you all be so kind to help.  :happy3:

Sure, glad to help. Verse 20 refers to the collapse of the planet earth. Verse 21 refers to the climatic phase of the Day of the Lord, He will strike against rebelling forces, both angelic and human. Verse 22  NT teaches more about the imprisonment of fallen angels before their final assignment to the lake of fire( 2 Pe 2:4 ;Jude 6 ; Rev 9:2,3,11; 11:7; 17:8; 20:1-10) It does the same regarding unbelieving humans ( Lk 16:19-31; Rev 20:11-15).

LOL I could just imagine Jesus walking down to these people and saying, "Hey guys! What's up?" Not so much in a condemning way.

Honestly though, it reminds me of 1 Peter where it talks about the spirit of Jesus going down to the spirits in prison who had been disobedient in the times of Noah. (And he definitely wouldn't have gone down to gloat!)

Sounds like good news to me! Preachin' to the dead, baby!

After many days will be visited, that sounds like good news. :cloud9:

May I take my feeble stab at these verses?

Adam (man) is utterly broke down, moved (out of the garden), a sinner, dead. Man (all people) are judged, they go forth like drunkards.

The righteous Divine (Jesus) will clash with all that is not of God within man.

The Holy in man (the image in which we are made) will be visited by God Himself and set free and God will be All in all.

Boy sees girl. Boy loses girl. Boy woos and lovingly wins girl. The end......but really, the Beginning!!!

I am just referring to earth broken down in meaning this clay we are made of.(Spiritual)

or the planet we live on (Carnal )
and WE should really state which we are talking about or others "could"
be confused.

Like Jesus didn't expect anyone to get confused over His words?

Are you referring to my words LD? I am not getting you? My bad. I thought I was pretty clear but again maybe it's a battle of the natural mind verses the spiritual. I know I sense this battle within my being all the time.

No offense, all of your interpretation of scipture is done by human reasoning. There are a lot of people on this forum who like to philosophy the scriptures to mean what their flesh wants it to mean.
