the 'good' the bad and the ugly oR sheep & goats

In support of UR - Leviticus 16's TWO goats:

In Leviticus chapter 16 is all about the Day of Atonement, which of course was the one day of the year the high priest entered the holy of holies to make atonement for the people (behind the veil which split in two when Jesus died). Verses 5,8 and 10 talks of two goats.

All the sacrifices of course typified Jesus, the ox, patient servant, the lamb, silent peaceful obedient sacrifice, etc. And the goat representing us humans/sinners/imperfect.

But there are two goats. One is "chosen" and sacrificed, making at-one-ment, when we are in Christ and have recognized our redemption.

But one of the goats is set free, or let go, into the wilderness, and it was called the scapegoat. Now say what you will, unlike the "chosen" goat (Jesus) this goat is set free and gets to go on living. Most interpreters interpret this goat as also Jesus.

But, in God's truth proving for all time drama (this life as we presently know it 'apart' from God, and all which results) there are two classes, or there ultimately ends up two classes - the sheep and the goats.

Most folks agree, a good story will have the 'good' guy and the 'bad' guy. The goats at the end of the age are those who have not (yet) recognized their redemption and been saved (progressively transformed). These are the 'bad' guys of God's drama, so to speak. :smile: & in a sense, scapegoats!

But ultimately, they, the goat(s) are set free! On the Day of Atonement, which I believe ultimately represents Day of Judgment (b'cause the Spring Holy Days prophesied Jesus' 1st advent/visitation, so the Fall ones..?) - 3 Fall Holy Days - Trumpets (day 1) - Atonement Day (day 10) - Tabernacles (day 15)

3 peaks of the long 2nd advent - Trumpet/1st resurrection (day 1) - Judgment/examination/review Day (day 1000) - God will now Tabernacle with man (day 1500?)
