Seven Incorrect Assumptions

#1 Universalism renders the Gospel moot.

#2 Universalism discredits God's justice.

#3 Universalism overestimates the love of God.

#4 Universalism has no place in Church history.

#5 Universalism is not Biblically based.

#6 Universalism gives licence to sin.

#7 Universalism projects human feelings to God.

Are our broadest hopes broad enough? Shall there be a nook or abyss, in all the universe of God, finally unlightened by the Cross? Shall there be a sin, or sorrow, or pain unhealed? Is the very universe, is creation in all its extent, a field wide enough for the Son of God?

Mickiel

On number six, gives license to sin, interesting that most people who believe in free will thinks it gives license to sin.

Mickiel

Or I meant to say the opposite, they think with free will removed we would sin more.

Regarding the dream of free will

1. God is the Will of all wills.

2. Man, (the created by the Creator), is a will.

Question= How free?

"For the creature was made subject to vanity/ futility, not willingly, but by reason of him who has subjected the same in hope..."

I personally don't believe in free will, but I think it's near impossible to convince this  world of that being a right choice.

Mickiel: I am convinced the natural mind of broken mankind is stuck in a groove only the Father can change. Only the awakening of anagennaō can change the mind of any one of us.

The change is radical transformation, in degrees of glory, as each of us in our own order are awakened. "Except a man be born anew" is the verb describing this action of being brought to a higher place of seeing. Nothing, absolutely nothing, can be seen of Father's Realm outside of this remarkable verb describing an on-going action of becoming.

Yes, my brother, it must begin in Him as the Source to end in Him as the Goal.

"I have been supposing that God loves everyone and wants to show mercy on all. Indeed, I have hinted that I believe that if God did not love and try to save everyone, he would be less than perfect. Calvinists will not agree to this. God has to be just, they maintain, but he does not have to be merciful. He has to punish unforgiven sin, but he does not have to forgive sin. This is a common view among theologians, but it ought to be seen as problematic for a Christian view of God. To subordinate divine love to divine justice so that God has to be just but does not have to love is odd for a Christian who confesses that God is love." -Dr. Robin Perry

To not believe in the mercy of all  is because they don't know the love of all. And to leave someone unpunished would be strange to the world. Punishment is a pot that the world would include pain, crippling, crying, and blood. They cannot see that Christ has purchased that pot. The right to our future is now his.

exactly !...glad somebody else has got this !...'Free Will' only takes us so far....also, God can over ride mans 'free will' ...look at what happened to the apostle Paul..his will to murder and persecute Christians  was changed just like that.

circumstances/influences/events etc  dictate choices often, if not always.
