Is this the Correct View about Hell,
   I'm so Confused, Many Claim the Traditional View about Hell is Correct
like  R. Maurice Smith in his book  Refuting Universalism
"All Dogs go to Heaven, don't they"   Others say Hell is a  MYTH,
and if  Endless Burning Hell that Torments Sinners is a Myth, does that Mean the Wicked get off
Scott-Free, Still the Wicked MUST be Punished after they die
Is Hell Real or is it a MYTH ?  Or is Hell Indeed Real, but NOT Endless in Duration ?

I went to the website but couldn't find that particular article. One article, a takeoff from the movie "Miracle on 34th street" has a little girl named Virginia questioning if there is a santa claus. They paraphrased it to ask If it was true there was a hell(supposedly also from 8 year old Virginia) "Yes Virginia there is a hell"
The article sure never said that in their belief system of eternal torment, if little 8 year old Virginia died today she would be tortured for all eternity. At the end, they ask Virginia "where will you be in 100 years?" Sadly, being 8 years old and barely being aware of anything the first 3, they sincerely believe for the 5 years of whatever sins she committed Virginia will be tortured forever. Would you, could you, possibly worship a hateful, sadistic "God that they are presenting?" Especially since the Bible says, "God IS love." Yes, he requires justice, but 1.) the above described scenario is NOT justice. and 2.) The bible never says, "Gos IS justice. It says only God IS light and God IS love.
Back to your question. Yes, there is a hell but NOT what these eternal torture people portray. The bible says, hell was created for "the Devil and his angels" NOT humans. Furthermore, hell is not eternal anyway since the bible says that death and hell will be cast into the lake of fire. - No more death, no more hell. Jesus conquered death and hell - that's why Paul asked the rhetorical question, O death where is your sting, o hell where is your victory.
The fire portrayed by these ET'ers is meant to torture with no purpose.
"Our God is a consuming fire" the fire people will experience is a cleansing fire much like refining silver or gold. The impurities in us will be consumed by God after we die and will never be again Since consumed means exists no longer.
So actually TAF there is an eternal fire in the sense that "Our God is a consuming fire" and "He doesn't change" but the eternal fire of God is not "hell" as these Eternal torment people would have you believe.
And don't be angry with them - most do not know better simply repeating the lies they were told by preachers trying to scare and frighten people towards Jesus. "Perfect love casts out all fear." Simply, they don't know God well enough to love Him.

If God is agapao, then justice and judgment must be in harmony not opposition to agapao.  Is eternal punishment for temporal sin justice?  Is punitive punishment which does not correct consistent with agape love?

I believe Gods justice was fulfilled on the Cross, and his judgments are consistent with bringing all men unto Him...which God said is His will. 

AF, if Jesus' death on the Cross only saved a small portion all of humanity...can you call that victory?  So, if your church softball team scored one run, and the opposition scored 20... Yet your softball team celebrated and claimed victory...you would call them crazy.  But, that is exactly what mainstream Christian doctrine does...loses most humans...saves a few then calls it victory.  Sorry, I haven't bought it since I was 7.  Only thing that kept me in bondage to hell doctrine was fear.

TAF, it seems you want to believe there's a hell of eternal torment rather than a hell of a cleansing and purification.
Since you refuse to listen to scripture by us and keep going back to the silly Eternal Torture websites I have a question.
Do you know God well enough to know beyond a shadow of doubt that our loving Father could not possibly eternally torment anyone that lived less than say...100 years - even if they sinned every minute of every day and never slept, how would that be justice?
Who do you think will bring you closer to the truth? Reading God's word and getting to know the God of Love, or reading Matt Slick's articles and getting to know fallible (like us all) Matt Slick?
