How is it that most people do not see this statement as absurd?

Love is kind, patient, protecting and hopeful.  So if God purposefully creates the whole human race and lets them burn for all eternity, God is loving?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

He's right. Then God would love to torture...
If that was the case it was easier to just create 10 billion people in Hell and instantly start loving.

It's almost like an addiction. Start with a little and end totally of the scale.
Start with fire and more and more verses/concepts need to expained away.
Then finally the biggest contradiction in the Bible surfaces.
God's love is ultimately big vs God's punishement is ultimately big.
Then you have to make a choice....
a] Step over your pride and admit your understanding of the Bible likely isn't, ahum, fire-proof.
b] Make false image of God by merging two oposite character definitions <don't know the correct English word>

I think God has given men a sense for justice and a moral conscience - if not so, men could not be made responsible for their deeds, everlasting torture is against any human sense for justice, no one can deny this if he is honest, they claim the Bible teaches something, we are convinced it does not; they must proof it scripturally, to defend such a doctrine with rational arguments can only fail, scripturally they can't proof it either, men like this guy I think have never truly loved anybody, otherwise he would not speak so I think.

This man doesn't know love (or if he does, he's deceiving himself into falling for ridiculous ideas). Plan and simple. The whole idea of eternal torture/eternal conscious torment is sick. If that's love I want nothing to do with it!!

Hi sven, did you mean our discussion on this is vanity?  Or Paul Washer suggesting such things is vanity?

Truthfully, sometimes I catch myself thinking I am "better" because I understand the truth of UR.  But I cannot boast, its only because God opened my eyes and not Paul Washer's eyes.  It could have been me who is preaching that God could roast everyone and still be loving at the same time.

At least it is restful and peaceful knowing the truth about God.

Understood Sven.  No offence taken.  Merely my carnal nature rearing its ugly head.

Paul Washer is well known in Calvinist circles.  He has no more authority than the rest of us.  Sometimes I just can't resist pointing out the (obvious to me) absurd things people say, especially when they are preaching to thousands/millions via the internet.  It just bothers me to have the truth so misrepresented, I have to say something.  I feel the need to "defend" God's nature (not that He can't do it Himself).  I don't know if that is right or wrong...

I just wish they used other arguments.
But I guess all denominations have their own favorite set of verses. UR included.
