One Spirit in Christ

Only let your conversation (manner of behavior) be as it becometh the gospel of Christ, - that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.

Paul proceeds to give some valuable instruction for our daily living, with the words, STAND FAST IN ONE SPIRIT",  While this can be taken to refer to our relationship with other believers, the emphasis must not just be on our oneness with each other, because this will never be accomplished until we are first one with Christ.  "He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit." (1 Cor 6:17).  Only in the measure that we are ONE SPIRIT IN CHRIST can we, also, become one spirit with each other.  HE is the Head, we are to be joined to Him, and it is self-evident that if the whole body is joined unto the Head, they cannot be very far from each other.

Joined unto the LORD.  This necessitates our yielding up of all our own rights, will, self-hood, to acknowledge that HE ALONE IS LORD IN OUR LIFE.  When we are "one spirit"with Him, there are no more two spirits, (His, and ours, in some form of contra-distinction to each other) for this union of oneness in Him precludes it.  True, there is a losing of our own carnal-self identity, to become identified in Him, but what blessing awaits those who can pray, and mean it, "not my will, but Thine, be done:.

Surely, the more we have surrendered all of our "rights" to the Lord, the less we will seek to maintain such "rights" with our brethren, for these "rights" are no longer ours, and whatever God wills for us, that is what we desire.  This surrender takes all the "fight" out of us, and we cease to be enemies with ourselves, and, therefore, find it much easier to be joined in peace with our brethren, that in one spirit we might together follow on to know the Lord ever more.

Whom He hath called, whom He hath chose.

Stand fast in one spirit

I see this as not being two spirited (double minded) speaking of both an unforgiving spirit and a forgiving spirit. God's spirit is a forgiving one, not an unforgiving one. But man, he has both an unforgiving spirit and a forgiving spirit and he can constantly goes back and forth between the two, depending on who he is talking to.

For me, it does not matter who I speak to, may it be a believer in UR, or a believer in ET or an unbeliever, my words are always the same.

A QUIET SPIRIT

1 Peter 3:4
The hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

The admonition of Proverbs 4:23 is well taken, "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."  One might be very careful as to what they allow their eyes to see, and their ears to hear.  They might watch and guard against anything preying on upon their minds, but if they are ensnared with the inner spirit forces, so that they begin to act and react in alignment with the spirit of the world, sorrow lieth at the door.

We need to TAKE HEED TO OUR SPIRIT, guard against that which would defile us within, unsettle us, disturb our peace, and cause us to become riled up with the agitating spirit of the world.  So unawares, in the hour when we think not, we find our "inner spirit" becoming pressured and tested, but God can help us maintain a quiet spirit.

The need to come into the maturity of a meek and quiet spirit becomes more evident with the increasing pressure of our times.  To "rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him," (Ps 37:7).  More literally from the Hebrew text this reads, "Be silent to the Lord".  You say, what does that mean?  Consider:  how often do we trouble our own spirit with our constant babble of sound unto the Lord.  Why, Lord?  When, Lord? How, Lord?  Do something, Lord!  Hear me, O Lord!  When all the time what we really need is to quiet ourselves before Him, and remember that "In quietness and confidence shall be your strength, "  (Isaiah 30:15)

Often times our mind screams out, "But God ought to act in this emergency now."  But His Spirit whispers deep within, "Keep calm, just rest in the Lord."  Yes, don't allow your flesh to rise up in rebellion to what seems like inactivity on God's part, but maintain your quietness of spirit, in confidence that He will not fail, at the proper time He will work "all things together into good".  "It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord."  (Lam 3:26)

I think the word unity proves there isn't just one spirit in Christ (OP)
Unity requires more that one "thing".
For me "One sprit" (and unity) simply means seeing/understanding/doing things the same way. A team with many induvituals.
