Why does the Baptist hymnal end on hymn number 666?

Why does the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB) published by the famously conservative and literal Southern Baptist Convention not contain the word "hell" in its Old Testament, or the book of Acts (the self-recorded history of the early Christian church), or in any of the Pauline epistles?

If the Hebrew prophets, Jesus, Peter and Paul had believed in "hell," why didn't they warn mothers never to have children?

Yup, yup, yup . . the one thing we've seem to have mastered when dealing with spiritual principles . . .leave it to us Christians!!  We're great air pumps . . .give us any spiritual pattern or principle and we can inflate it into something totally different from what it originally was intended to be.

I don't see the number 666 being evil, for God invented numbers afterall. The number may identify the man of sin, but that is all. Maybe some cults use it as some kind of marker, so they demonstrate they are antichrist, and against biblical Jesus.

No, the reiligious church has inflated it to be this "mark of the beast/antichrist" kind of thing.  But I agree, it's merely the number of man and nothing more.
