Bible Trivia-the long, the short, the center

Bible Trivia!!!  The first time I saw these words (many, many years ago) I was indignant.  The Bible trivial???? Never!

Well, I've since then matured a bit and as I looked at a particular piece of Bible Trivia, I SAW only spiritual food for meditation, for praise, for thanksgiving:

Trivia:  longest chapter - Ps 119 (176 verses)
            shortest chapter - Ps 117 (2 verses)
            center verse - Ps 118:8

The longest chapter is all about the Word of God  (which endureth forever 1Pet 1:24; Matt 24:35; Mark 13:31 etc. etc.)

The shortest chapter is about ALL nations praising God for His merciful kindness and truth which endure forever.

And at the center of the Bible,  a great reminder--

Ps 118:8  It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. 

  I thank God that even through trivia, He can teach me to trust and praise Him for His merciful kindness, His truth (His Word is truth), which endure forever...

When I first started reading scripture I kept a Bible Notebook.  I recorded how many chapters there were, and how many verses.  I read a chapter from different sections daily and recorded how many words were in each chapter.  I estimated how long it would take to read a chapter, or a verse, based on word count and average reading speed.  (North American speed is about 200 wpm.)  I came to a great and awe inspired conclusion.  I had seen it, it was truly incredible.
Then someone gave me an NIV and I had to start all over again.
