Better to have never been born

"Better to have never been born" Jesus said that of Judas who betrayed him. If ET is true, wouldn't it have been better for 95% of humanity never to have been born?
By that, I mean, If God asked me pointblank, "You have 2 choices. You can live your life however you want and suffer the consequences and when you die you will be in torment for all eternity - a concept of pain you are incapable of understanding, OR you can have the choice of never being born, which do you choose?"
I think a God that loves us would at least give us that choice. Not only would I choose "never been born" but even saved as I am, I would choose never been born for the reason of not wanting to spend eternity with a monster God.

I came to the same conclusion.  Unfortunately a monster god wouldn't give you that choice.  So we are 'wammied' before we begin.  I would take non-existence over having to watch people in hell as well.

I'm thinking of that Far Side cartoon where this man is standing in front of two doors, kind of like in that famous story about the Lady and the Tiger.  In this case, however, the doors are labeled:

"Damned if You Do"            and             "Damned if You Don't"

Beside the man is a devil who says, "C'mon, c'mon, it's one or the other!"

Seriously, though, if we believe in Universal Reconciliation, must we not suppose that Judas will also bend the knee and proclaim Jesus as Lord?  Before he hanged himself, he had already realized his mistake, and that Jesus was righteous.  Was it his betrayal or his suicide that was so terrible? 

As for the rest, ET gets you into some sticky issues:

Since heretics are going to Hell anyway, let's torture them, and maybe a few will recant...

Since most people are bound for Hell, let's kill them as small children when still innocent...

Ditto...abort them as babies...

Don't let anyone have babies, it's better not to be born, isn't it?

All of which obviates God's glorious Plan, and His creative Purpose.  Sadly, most folks can't see the unfolding of the basic concept.
