it does not mean 'hell' because the word 'hell' does not appear in the original Hebrew or Greek that Bible was written in.
The proof is in the meaning of the word itself. Gehenna means The Valley of the Sons of Hinnom. Not even ETers in the know question that. The question is, does it represent a place called hell. If so, I'd want to see proof of that myself, because if there is none, then that is an interpretation, not a fact.
