I was reading The "Myth" of the Bible section on Tentmaker.org and this stood out to me. I've read this verse several times, but it didn't really stand out to me until now.

"Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition. You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you: "'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.'" (Matt. 15:6-9, NI

See Jesus outright states that the traditions taught by religion are false. Yet, Universalism isn't even a tradition; it's not even a mainstream religion for the most part. It's more or less a form of religion found online.

Universal reconciliation is not "more or less a form of religion found online." It's simply the truth of scripture that describes what Christ's blood on the cross really accomplished. Reconciliation with God through Christ has the same scope as creation. That is what orthodoxy fails to teach. So you could say that universal reconciliation is just the truth while orthodox doctrine hides the truth of the Father saving all mankind and reconciling all creation, and replaces the truth with the lie that the Father created most of mankind specifically to be tortured in fire forever. Which do you think best portrays the scriptural truth that "God is love?"

"and through Him to reconcile all to Him (making peace through the blood of His cross), through Him, whether those on the earth or those in the heavens" (Colossians 1:20)

Sorry it was a poor choice of words to say that UR is "more or less a form of religion found online".

I was first presented with ultimate reconciliation before there was an internet.

I think what I meant to say is that in this day and age, you are more likely to learn about UR on the Internet than in the church. Before the truth was hidden in people because they had no way of communicating it with others. I hope I was able to better clarify what I meant this time.

I understand. The thing is that I've heard universal reconciliation referred to as a "denomination" on the forum before, and it's not a "denomination" or a "religion." It's just a couple of words used to describe the actual consequence of Christ's sacrifice on the cross. It is only considered to be something unbelievable, or too good to be true, because orthodoxy has declared it to be heresy, but that's just because orthodoxy doesn't conform to the inspired written word of God. Orthodoxy even perpetrated forgery in the translation of the inspired written word of God to try to override universal reconciliation and the salvation of all mankind with the lie of torture in fire forever. So it is an honor to be declared a heretic by orthodoxy for simply believing the word of God accurately translated. Orthodoxy tried to suppress the inspired written word of God by torturing and killing people with fire, but that didn't work. Christ told the Pharisees that they invalidated the word of God because of their tradition (Matthew 15:6), and orthodoxy does the same thing today. So I recommend you forget about the tradition of orthodoxy, and believe the word of God which says Christ's blood on the cross reconciles all on earth and in the heavens (Colossians 1:20). That's the entire universe, bro. That's why it's called "universal reconciliation." But you need to get an accurate translation to know the truth. Here's a link to one. http://concordant.org/online/index.html

In the religious world, universal reconciliation is often confused with the denomination called Unitarian Universalist, which is a sort of "anything goes" religion. They pretty much believe that whatever your religion is, that's ok. I is very humanistic and as liberal as it gets. On this forum, our beliefs have nothing to do with this denomination. :2c:

Amen, bro. I actually checked out a Unitarian Universalist Christian Fellowship online when I was searching for local like minded folks. It seems like the Universalist Church used to be Christian until it got together with the Unitarians and the combo became what it is now. I've read that there are various fellowships within the Unitarian Universalist Church that get together because they have common beliefs. I've heard there are Buddhists which are actually atheists, and there are even Wiccans which are witches who will tell you they're not Satan worshipers. I haven't heard of any Satanist fellowships within the Unitarian Universalist Church. Anyway I don't believe in the Trinity anymore, and I do believe in universal reconciliation. So the closest thing I saw online that had similar beliefs was the Unitarian Universalist Christian Fellowship, but then I figured I'd pass because I couldn't see why they needed to belong to an organization that contained all that other crazy stuff. I didn't think just having a common belief in universal reconciliation was enough reason to fellowship with them when there were other beliefs I didn't share. I actually quit this forum for awhile for the same reason, but then I figured it's not a church just a forum. So I came back. But I hear what you're saying about folks who aren't familiar with universal reconciliation sometimes confusing it with the Unitarian Universalist Church or thinking it's some kind of denomination. From what I've heard about both, I think the Unitarian Universalist Church is kind of like Alcoholics Anonymous in that they just let you choose which higher power you would like to worship. I don't look at that as "liberal" vs. conservative though. I just think it's misguided because there's only one living God.

"For even if so be that there are those being termed gods, whether in heaven or on earth, even as there are many gods and many lords, nevertheless for us there is one God, the Father, out of Whom all is, and we for Him, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through Whom all is, and we through Him." (1 Corinthians 8:5,6)
