How can I be assured that all people will be saved?

I've been following this website for years. Still, I disappeared... Still I was coming back some times... And I think I finally nailed the problem that bothers me.

I think that what I'm worried is that I feel that God is very good, he loves everyone... And I feel it in my heart that he will save all people.

However, I lack absolute, smoking gun 100% scriptural proof that he's indeed savior of everyone.

I mean - all quotes about the narrow path, all quotes about being chosen, all quotes about being a strict follower... The whole  Bible screams about excluding, and not including.

What about you?

shawn

And there lies the problem.  What are you listening to...your heart or your head?  Flesh or the spirit?  If you are walking with Christ, your spirit should know the answer to the question you seek.  If you are looking for proof, you won't find it.  If you are looking to KNOW...then all you have to do is get your head out of the way and accept what He is trying to show you through relationship.

However, if you are looking for evidence in the scriptures, there is an abundance of it. It is a narrow road that leads to life. The question is not whether there is death, or whether there is correction for sin. The question is (in my mind) does God intend to punish and torment humans who hav resisted His grace FOREVER? Or for a time that will end when "Every knee has bowed and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father" Phil 2:10,11

The scriptures that sealed the deal for me are:

Ephesians 1:9-11

Colossians 1:16-21

Romans 8:18-21

Romans 11:32-36

1 Corinthians 15:21-28

Phillipians 2:10,11

Revelations 5:13

There are so many more, but if God does not reconcile ALL..... Colossians 1:16-21 is a LIE

If God does not gather ALL into one in Christ.... Ephesians 1:9-11 is a LIE

If God does not set the WHOLE CREATION free from futility into the glorious liberty of the children of God....  Romans 8:18-21 is a lie

Every knee shall bow..... Every tongue confess    JESUS CHRIST IS LORD

Jesus said it best of course...

IF I BE LIFTED UP I WILL DRAW ALL MEN UNTO ME

BEHOLD I AM MAKING ALL THINGS NEW

Assurance of salvation is a wonderful thing, but in this age and world, we see through a glass darkly.  Do not depend on your own imperfect understanding of things, but trust God.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

A God Who knew ahead of time He was creating billions of people to be tortured ceaselessly for ever would be so dangerously evil that no one could ever be confident they or anyone else would be saved.  He'd always be in touch with them and have to find pleasure in their torment in order to keep them that way.  We would never be safe around Him.

Much time is spent with various doctrines to deal with Christians' uncertainty of salvation.  It is because they have not seen and they do not testify, nor do they believe as the dearly beloved John has said, "We have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world." (1 John 414)  If Jesus can't or won't do the Father's will, then He's a sinner and we should send Him back and ask God to give us a Saviour Who will do His will, not with a few, but as He said, with the entire world.

I don't think any of us can find anything that makes us so special, so different from everybody else that we can thereby be assured we are among the saved unless He is working it for everybody.

Remember, He's making mankind in His image and likeness.  That would mean, along with all other Christians, we have to become Master Torturers too.  My conscience won't allow it and I don't see it when I look into my Saviour's face.

What makes us so special is our faith.

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

--Rom 3:28

Acts 13:39 Through him everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses.

Romans 3:20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.

Romans 3:21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify

Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

--Gal 2:16

Hebrews 7:19 (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.

B_T, this may take some pondering, and all may not see it this way, but I personally believe everyone is excluded until it's their turn.

As mentioned in the previous post, we're saved "in order", "in turn".  Those in the OT given faith to believe in YHWH for salvation in that age, the ecclesia to believe in Yashua as Savior in this age, then all.   :2c:

6 For it stands in Scripture:

"Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone,

a cornerstone chosen and precious,

and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame."

7 So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe,

"The stone that the builders rejected

has become the cornerstone,"

--1 Peter 2

..to which the Law and the Prophets testify.

Where do the Law and the Prophets testify to this?

This is what the Almighty LORD says: I am going to lay a rock in Zion, a rock that has been tested, a precious cornerstone, a solid foundation. Whoever believes [in him] will not worry.

Isaiah 14:32 What answer shall be given to the envoys of that nation? "The LORD has established Zion, and in her his afflicted people will find refuge."

The answer is simple BT.
Are you aware of verses that include everyone?
If so that's the proof you are looking for.
If everyone is included then the exclusion must have a limited duration.
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

What makes us so special is our faith.
Faith in God or the right belief about yourself?  We can believe God can do something, but until we believe He will do it for ourselves, there is is no release of faith to obtain the promise.  Yes God heals; but, why would He heal me?  If you say because I believe, you're being blind in your reasoning, using circular reasoning.  You have to have a faith in yourself, that you can have what God promises, that it applies to you, that you can obtain and do deserve the blessings He's spoken.  As you believe you meet the qualifications to appropriate you also must receive power to secure the appropriation, activating it as yours..

If you are dead, you cannot see the Living God.

You cannot see the kingdom of God.

But, I think it is possible to be dead in Christ, as well as dead in your sins.

Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
--Rom 6:8

2 Timothy 2:11 Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him;

Romans 6:4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

IMO one of the clearest examples of the depth of Our Heavenly Father's love is the simile of our earthly parents.
We had no say in being planned our conceived. We were brought up under their care in the years of development.
There were times of dicipline and times of pure love and joy.
We are usually given parameters as we learn to make decisions. Some are good decisions, some are shockers. At NO POINT do we lose our position in the family.
Now we are told in Hebrews that our Heavenly Father loves us WAY BEYOND what our earthly dads do.
Hebrews 12;7 " Persevere for the sake of discipline; God bears Himself towards you as sons; for who is a son whom a father does not discipline?"
Vs 10 " For they indeed were administering discipline for a few days according to that which seemed good to them;
BUT HE to that which is profitable with a view to our partaking of His Holiness."

Further extension of the Father thing - when I corrected my children for something I would deal with them individually.
When something involved the two of them I would give an initial statement to them both, but then elaborate to each of them.
Funnily enough they would get something different from the same scenario because they are individuals.
Fellow brother in Christ

Indeed, the usage of the term Father is of great importance.
Sure God is the King of the universe, but still His most favorite name seems to be Father.
That much more personal than king.
I think this is far more than semantics....
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

You don't see it when you look into your Savior's face because he is your Savior.

The wrath of God is not on you.

One side of this is ET, which you call being  a 'Master Torturer,'  but I think it might be unfair to deny God his wrath altogether, also, by calling him a 'Torturer' for having wrath.

He is not gentle Jesus meek and mild to everyone or even at all times.

He is a very powerful God.

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Excellent, great points.  I've only recently been able to see more about Jesus in the OT, how some looked for Him as the true Messiah and what that meant.  And now you're pointing out the cross in the OT.  Fantastic, thanks.  It reminds me of Dora Van Assen's vision, how the cross is in the center of it all, its power and light radiating out and affecting everything else.

God has always had a remnant, in this age an ecclesia.  CALLED OUT.  I personally wouldn't call that 'special', because it's nothing of the individual, it's a gift, but I say one can know.  One knows if they've been drawn by the Holy Spirit and given faith to believe on Jesus as Savior.  The scriptures say "our spirit bears witness with His Spirit that we are children of God", and "to them who believe He gave the power to become the sons of God".

For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.  I Cor. 1:18

Blessings.

I would assume if BT has been hanging around here for 2 years, then he has seen all the verses, and defense of UR.  This is just about acceptance at this point.  If someone is looking for a verse that is boom.."proof"...they will be highly disappointed.  I don't believe that to exist.  I was looking for that when I first came here.  I didn't find it.  What I did find is much Scriptural support but more importantly I became more attuned to God's voice in my life...and learned to trust what I was hearing.  I assume BT needs that more than a rehash of verses he has probably already seen.
