Life for all men ?
I thought that some men will be temporary destroyed
Thank you for your help

Seth

Look one verse before:

Romans 5:17
17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

The free gift came upon all men, but as Paul said in 1 Cor 15, each man to his order. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. They "which recieve" abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life.

Titus 2
11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 12 instructing (paiduo - chastening) us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

And what of those who refuse to receive "instruction to deny ungodliness and worldly desires?" If the grace of God is intended to save mankind from ungodliness and worldly desires, and men remain the darkness, they will be brought to destruction until, as with the Prodigal Son, they reach out for something better.

If all men have "justification to life"
everyone has life

erwan

in romans 5:18 justification comes from jesus sacrifice
if Jesus sacrifice was not, people would have no salvation from sufferings and no salvation from death
romans 5:8-11
Rightoussness enable men to get  life (absence of temporary destruction) , only if they are christians

I think i understand

Seth

I think Paul is saying that Christ purchased salvation for everyone, but when you consider what we are saved from then it makes sense that the "last enemy to be destroyed is death." Some people don't want to be saved from death because they don't see themselves as dead. It's like Jesus said in John 3: people love the darkness and do not want to come into the light. So death will be destroyed when the last bit of God's creation come into the light. God uses destruction to complete that plan of spiritually sacrificing everyone on Christ's altar.
