I post a bit over on city-data. I really like that forum. I recognize many of your screen names.

Yep, seen you too. I'm just shocked by the massive U influx - and, of course I'm adding to it by posting the news around but it was already happening before I reported it here.

My, oh my, how those true christian colors are showing, how they hate universalism

http://www.city-data.com/forum/12821882-post43.html (The christian answer to the quoted text)

The irony is that atheists and christians are on the same side here

Universalism or atheism which is the lesser of 2 evils

Guess I'm selfish, because I agree and empathize with the quoted text in the first link, what's so selfish about being concerned about the fate of others and not being happy with the doctrine of ET

The irony

Shadow, isn't that something? Christians upset because God is going to save all. Where is their burden?
Can anyone even comprehend what eternal torment would be like? No chance of getting out of it.
There is no greater nightmare yet supposed Christians are fine with it. Baffles the mind.

QuoteWhere is their burden?
It's in several things:

a] God would be a sinner/unjust if he let sinners into heaven.
==> What about the mass murderer that found Christ a hour before death. Is that a saint?

b] They feel cheated just like the workmen that worked a full day and got paid the same as those that worked an hour.

c] They really believe it's written that way and saying otherwise is blasphemy.
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Firstly I'm doubting ETs are really Christians.
The poll is useless.
Atheists obviously don't vote against them selfs. They would have voted against every religion. And you could be surprised what they would vote if their choice was only ET or UR.
And the ETs use the poll to bash URs so their vote isn't hard to guess.
Rigged elections!  :mblush:

I couldn't agree more, to me this doctrine is so monstrous and vile that to me personally the doctrine of conditional immortality is closer to UR than ET, in fact the way I feel right now I wish I'd been born an animal, who would one day die and know no more

And I'm speaking as a person that supports capital punishment, I personally believe John Wayne Gacy, Ted Bundy etc rightfully deserved the death penalty

However, to ET christians, this isn't nearly severe enough, NO, they want them to suffer forevermore...as well as at least 95% of people who have ever lived :sigh:

ET christians are totally self centred, self absorbed, vindictive, abrasive, narcissistic etc and their logic and reasoning makes no sense it's the same robotic stuff regurgitated over and over again

Either way you have a parodox

ET and ED = Why bother living a good life and evangelize if all are saved (although admittedly, an ED God is a trillion, zillion, billion times more merciful than an ET God) either way I can't be convinced that this God is all loving

UR = Why create a person that God knows will end up in ET or ED in the first place, we had no choice as to whether we wanted to be born, so why create the person in the first place

That forum, and CARM is like a poisonous vine, that should be avoided at all costs
