Back in Biblical times, didn't they used to baptize people by throwing them into lakes?

Yes, lake of fire...John said, (Matt. 3:11) "but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear, he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit AND WITH FIRE.

Could it be that John was using a lake where people are baptized, plus the fire that Jesus was to baptize with to explain the lake of fire? Simple :happy3:
