The terms translated forever and everlasting and never are human perversions which could never have deceived us if they had been consistently rendered.

All together they form a distinct portion of time called eonian times.

Destruction, like salvation, is eonian.

It is not the end or aim of God.

God destroys nothing that He will not restore. He loses nothing that will not return to Him laden with praise and glory for Himself.

Destruction is a passing process, not a finished goal.

I, for one, freely confess that, without a knowledge of the consummation, when God will reconcile all and become All in all, I could not have confidence in a deity who allowed the world to work itself into such a mess, and who can do little more for most men than to sweep them into destruction, extinction or torment.

But now, how can I distrust God?

Mankind is just where He has brought it. The effect of all the present evil and distress will be salutary. God will get glory out of it, and men will be prepared by it to appreciate the gifts He has in store for them all.

But as a means to an end, it will not last any longer than is necessary to produce the end for which it exists in the first place.

When we finally weary of our own selfishness, petty jealousies, and lust for power; when we learn at last, perhaps through bitter experience, that these lead only to ruin and cannot bring enduring happiness, that nothing short of union with God and reconciliation with others will satisfy our own deepest yearnings; when we discover that the Hound of Heaven has finally closed off every alternative to such a union, we shall then, each of us, finally embrace the destiny that is ours. -A.E. Amen.. Great articles! this life (reality) of knowing both good and evil will be swallowed up by life itself.. life only! He having created genuinely able to think and reason beings (children, family!) aNd because all have learned there can only EVER be only the One Way of Life, paradise/perfection will be kept intact.. Or that's how I think of it anyway..

I find this verse interesting - kind of “show to” to whom.. ET says to all the saved during coming ages.. which of course is true.. But that seems kind of circular to me..

Ephesians 2:7, Berean Literal Bible
“in order that in the coming ages He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

“Definition: to indicate (by word or act), to prove.. – properly, to make fully evident, showing conspicuous proof which demonstrates something as undeniable. The prefix 1722 (en) adds the dimension of "abiding condition" making the "showing forth" on "open display" for all to see, i.e. obvious so "no one could miss it."

Again true as to the ET understanding.. “the coming ages” ...”the thousand years” (the prophets mentioned “survivors”) and “the judgment” to which those not yet saved before dying rise to..

Though it doesn’t really matter to us how He does it! We know He does!

Eph.1:10 - for the administration of the fullness of the times, to bring together ALL things in Christ--the things in the heavens and the things upon the earth--

1 Cor.15:22-28 - 22 For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be given-life, 23 but each in his own order: Christ the firstfruit; after-that the ones of  Christ at His coming. 24 Then comes the end— when He hands-over the kingdom to His God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign until which time He has put all the enemies under His feet. 26 Death, the last enemy, is abolished— 27 for “He subjected all things under His feet” [Ps 8:6]. The word for today shall be "unprecedented."

"Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus..."

Not death.

Not life.

Not angels.

Not powers.

Not the present/ not the future.

No power.

:Chinscratch: ...collective ruin (destruction, apocalypse) BEGAN when the bad fruit (choice? that brings deteriorating/rotting/fading away fruit) was first plucked..? The value in letting bad choices (disobedience/imperfection/good AND/with evil) run its course? As the fruit proves forever there is only ever One Way of life? The smoke of ruin rises up forever in the memory, heart and psyche.. A foundation lesson never forgotten..?

Good Riddance

The culmination of Gods Word is found in 1 Cor. 15 when God becomes All in all.

The book of Revelation does not take us quite this far. Corruption is eliminated and our bodies are now incorruptible. The worst enemy of all, death, has been abolished.

The salvation of all has not meant the ignoring of sin.

The lake of fire, the second death has accomplished its work. All men now recognize the wondrous ways of God and His grace as expressed through the work of Christ. The salvation of all does not negate or minimize the work of the cross. The work of Christ upon the cross and the power of God as displayed through the resurrection, were both very necessary.

But now at the end of the ages we see the true scope of Gods work. Despite the sin and rebellion of humanity, God has found a way to bring every soul to the point of acceptance.

The ages have ended. The purpose of the eons has now been fulfilled; to reconcile all to God.

Wickedness and evil are gone. Death is no more. God is love, and He is All in all. Eternal life in perfection has begun. -Bob Evely-
