Yes. a living soul is the body/vessel for the spirit. Without the body/vessel and spirit there is no living soul.
Finally I understand you
so you say that  the body and spirit are the soul  than

Jam 2:26   For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

14 Now the Spirit of the Lord had left Saul, and the Lord sent a tormenting spirit  that filled him with depression and fear.   this would trouble the soul /  self   /living being/activity of mind

Would you show me where it says that in the Bible?

Show you what Beloved? This  "a living soul is the body/vessel for the spirit. Without the body/vessel and spirit there is no living soul."
Jam 2:26   For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Just what do you need? Please

Revelation 6:9
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held

Do those souls have a body?

Revelation 6:9

Do those souls have a body?

I accept The Book of Revelation as the uncovering/revealing of Christ in the saintrs, the hope of glory, it is a book of signs and symbols. When I read that verse for my understanding I read it as this, " And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the lives or life of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held.."
I contend that the diffenition of soul has been taken out of its true meaning. I can see and I do understand how the word soul in the NT defines or means the appetities and desires of man, be they good or bad ,but the true meaning of a soul is a person a living soul, the vessel that carrys the spirit. I no longer wonder or fail to see the difference, as I once did.

Those souls are talking to God.

So lives or a life cant talk, yet the very meaning of a soul is life or breath or a breathing creature.

Just what is soul to you all, and please, can you supply scripture and verse.

Beloved Servant

Well, Micah, you said a soul needs a body and a spirit so without a body how does one speak?

It's your turn.

Lefein

Not all of revelation is "esoteric symbolism" just to remind the world.

Anyway, I'll ask the question in agreement with Beloved Servant. "Its your turn"

Did those souls have bodies?  Or not?  Yes or no please, if you would be kind.  I myself would like to establish a "fact of belief" concerning the verse, and how it relates your interpretation of the soul/body.

Listen Beloved it is not my turn, I asked for scripture and verse for you belief that a soul is NOT a  body with spirit. Just what is a soul according to the Bible? What is a dead soul?  And what is a living soul? Just what is THE SOUL what IS A SOUL? And please with scripture and verse.

It is the part of me that will live forever.

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life" (John 3:36). "He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life" (John 6:47). "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His Name" (John 20:31).

Lefein

(Mat 21:25)  The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?

(Mat 21:26)  But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.

(Mat 21:27)  And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.

I have a feeling that Beloved Servant will only answer you Micah, when you decide to answer him.  You're avoiding answering his question.  Of course, I asked too, I'd like an answer as well.

Wasn't that written before the blood of Christ covered my sins?

My body will probably die unless I'm blessed enough to be alive when the sons of God are manifested, but I don't expect to experience any loss of consciousness.

Come to think of it, that thought probably terrifies a lot of people. lol

But my body is already dead.  Yet, I live.

No what I refered to is what the Bible says Gen 2:7  So then Yahweh God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed in his nostrils the breath of life—and man became a living soul.
Jas 2:26  Just as, the body, apart from spirit, is dead, so, our faith also, apart from works, is dead.

Besides that I am weary of being but in this postion, I have asked several times for any or you to give me scripture and verse as to what you say is a soul or the soul is. I will say not more without an answer. Gen. 2:7 is my understanding of a living soul, a life, a person, a human being.

A living soul which, because of Jesus, will never die.  Do you believe this?  I've given you plenty of scripture.  Never.  He says never.  Is Jesus a liar?
