A response on a forum.

"I have read the forward and some of the intro to the book "Hope Beyond Hell". What I clearly hear is the voice of Satan casting doubt on what the Word of God says; forget about Mary K. Baxter. Mary K. Baxtyer is meerly used by God to testify of the ETERNAL CONSEQUENCES God has warned all against. Your problem is, you do not recognize the voice of Satan, from the voice of God. Satan knows the scriptures better than most Christians do. Unfortunately, most Christians do not recognize the voice of Satan when he speaks, and shun and avoid him for whom and what he is; the very gate of eternal death. The fact that you do not recognize the voice of Satan is because you have not, and do not meditate upon the Word of God much at all. You have been deceived by the book "Hope Beyond Hell", as the author who wrote it is. He too doesn't have a clue to decerning the voice of Satan, from the voice of God; granting his intentions are good. At worst, he knows what he is saying is a lie, as he contradicts, and twists what the scriptures teach. Sarah, you have a choice to make; either study the Word of God and follow Jesus Christ yourself, or follow the auther of that heretical book you are under the spell of... to your spiritual demise."

I know it's silly, but such words are like poison to the spirit. Such a message only inflicts doubt in God, not good news, not comfort, not support. Such words cause fear.

I pray the Lord helps us

John 16:33

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence.  In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; BUT BE OF GOOD CHEER [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! FOR I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD.  [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you].

Luke 21:36

Keep awake then and WATCH at all times [be discreet, attentive and ready], PRAYING that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things [taken together] that will take place, and STAND IN THE PRESENCE OF THE SON OF MAN.

I see in what MissZ quoted, a lot of bluster and intimidation, but no argument, no Scripture to back up claims, only an accusation of heresy.  MissZ sees this clearly, given her thread title, and if we also see clearly, such BS will not affect us, for we have walked out of the darkness, turned around, and have seen the darkness for what it is.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

Keep your head up Sarah. It is our lot for awhile, especially if we choose to be vocal about our beliefs. (I am not anymore, except as the Lord leads.) If you find irony humourous at all (I do) you can go to the Lord about it and He will probably show you the humourous bit of irony in that everything that person has accused you of, is actually what they themselves are doing. (Not discerning Satans voice from Gods... believing a falsely written book... not correctly discerning/interpreting the scriptures... etc.) Not all people find irony humourous and I want to make clear that we are not laughing at the person, but at the circumstances. See the irony? It's the way God uses with me that keeps me out of despair in these matters. Just thought it might help you. :)

They will have their eyes opened eventually. All we can do until then is pray and press in and seek His face. Much love to you sis.  :HeartThrob:

The forum letter writer seems to have what I see as the number one problem that every christian has when it comes to others. (including myself)

We have a tendency to judge someone else's relationship with God based on what they think they believe...
in our heads we are thinking:

WHAT!! You don't agree with me??? Then I must have a closer relationship and understand God better than you do. :punish:

Why don't you find out for yourself what the Bible says.

Why do you care what other people say?

Read it!

I have seen the arguments on both sides.  I have read debates between linguist, theologians, experts in ancient languages etc.  I have done the homework...yet  at the end of it all I still wasnt convinced...100%.  It wasn't until I laid all of that down and searched for the heart of God that I found my peace.  What I know is UR is sound academically.  But, I also know academics dont change hearts.  A revelation of the depth and the richness of God's love for humanity does change the heart.  And until someone is ready to start to drop the doctrines they worship and seek the face of God, they will protect that which they serve.  Don't be dismayed, as such things are waiting all of us who believe in and fight for truth.

Amen.  I know I am guilty of sometimes judging a person by their beliefs...have done so with ET.  So, I am called to patience, love and understanding.  We are to respond to accusations of heresy with love, gentleness, kindness, patience and understanding.  These are the  fruits of the Spirit, and should show in our dialogue with others.

How tough is that last sentence for me.  My ego creeps into conversations on a regular basis.  May God have long suffering with my character defects.

Thankfully I do!  :Peace2:

However I am not ashamed of my beliefs, this makes particular people more prone to urgently try to "turn me around" or maybe consider me a lost cause or an aid of Satan. My above post is an example of the mindset of most fundamentalists.

I have to say, sometimes it's tempting to retreat like Elijah into the desert, just grab my bible and be by myself with the Lord, but that's not going to help anyone lol ....No the good news needs to be spread.
