I've been very busy the last few days trying to get a web site up that we're tried to get up for months that I finally gave up on because we weren't getting anywhere with the software we were usig. We just couldn't make work what we spent a lot of time and money on. But recently HarperOne publishing announced Rob Bell wrote a new book "Love Wins: Heaven, Hell and the Fate of Everyone who ever lived." It's making big news in the evangelical world as well as the secular world. Well, the site we've been trying to get up is http://lovewins.us.

So last few days we've tried to resurrection the site, just forcing it to do things it's not really designed to do. We just wanted to get it up so that we could capitalize on the publicity this book is making. I'll be working on it a lot over the next few days. Anything any of you can do with your blogs, web sites, sending emails to friends etc, twitter, facebook would be helpful.

A new nice feature of the site will be the FAQ section. Some of you know I've been trying to get seasoned people here to collect all the best arguments against the Hellish passages of the Bible so that we can make a place on the net where all the answers are easily accessible to the world. To be honest with you, I'm very disappointed with the results here. I would have thought a few of you would have put some serious effort into the project. So the FAQ section of lovewins.us will have to be built slowly over the next few months. Hope some of you email me and ask how you can help.

This book by Rob Bell is a big deal. Millions of Christians will hear the buzz about it. The Emerging Church movement has been exposed to the message of Universal Salvation through other authors like Brian Mclaren and others. Rob Bell's popularity with young Evangelicals can really make an impact. Any help anyone can offer to get the http://lovewins.us site moving along will be appreciated. This project has cost us a lot of money over the last year with really no results because I gave up on it because of all the problems we were running into. I simply didn't want to pour any more of our scarce dollars into it. But with this book, Love Wins coming out, I felt I had to take the plunge and take a stab at making due with what we have and get the site up. The Love Wins book is coming out at the end of March. It can be pre-ordered at Amazon and probably other book stores. We probably won't carry it on our store because Amazon already sells it for less than we can buy it for.

I made a post on one of the other boards the other day on Dark Sayings in the Bible. I'm sure people want me to make further comments, but I just don't have the time. I have other projects that I have to devot my time on. This is really an important time in our history. Each of us should be earnestly asking our heavenly Father what we should be spending our time and resources on. The Harvest is truly plentiful this time. Enter His fields with joy! Peace, Gary
Sorry for any typos, I won't be editing this.

The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

I'm only writing this from my perspective.

First and foremost,  I think one problem with compiling all the info that would meet your expectations is baseed upon the amount of variance in each individuals perspective concerning how the scriptures go about teaching that Christ will accomplish saving all mankind.

I personally am not sure what there is to really add in comparison to what tentmaker already has compiled.

We still have issues of personal accountability in the matter of this concept and go largely unaddressed due to certain topics being banned on the site.  While I understand that there can be great arguments over those ideologies I think that demonstrates the problem with wanting the user base of a forum to come up with all the data.

We also have the problem that many address concerning the institutionalizing of the church, I am one that doesn;t want to trade the institution of Christendom for the institution of universalism.   Rob Bell has a church of 10,000 people and this is just the beginnings of a pastors path in that area.

He is already getting blasted on two fronts,  fundamental Christians charging him with heresy, and universalists claiming he has no balls because he won't take the label universalist and plaster it about for the world to see.

Personally I do not want to be associated with that mess in the first place, because it is equally bad fruit from either perspective.

I see it as nothing more than a fad band wagon that will lose it wheels down the road.

OOOOOH . . .DUUUUDE!!! You had me all the way right up to the last line.  I found my head about to nod off my shoulders as I read your post because I couldn't agree more with your base  message here.  But I don't see it as a fad, I see it as Rob is singing our song, just in harmony rather than melody ... I've seen interviews of him where they were trying to get him to "own up" to the tag that his critics had given him and he wouldn't do it because you can't label a personal relationship.  You can't tag it with a catchy title, you can't file it in with the folder of other like-minded mindsets.

The traditional church really won't know what to do with it.  I "am" a universalist more than I am anything else, but there are times when you get the feeling that if people congregate in a "church" setting that it's a bad thing because the "church" has abused it's standing more times than not and people have walked away full of scars and bitterness more than they have healing and joy.  So I do get the reasoning for most . . .but like thsi final shaking . . .revival is coming, but it's not going to be in the same form as old time revivals were.

The old Time revivals birthed church as we know it ... now this new thing happening is going to do away with the old strcuture and replace it with the true bride.  She's not going to have the same resemblance as the church's image has been projecting.  She's going to take on many forms and I believe Rob Bell is a part of that.  The guy is going to come under some of the most severe attacks once the book is out .. .it's not even on the shelves yet and look at the stirring it's already causing.  A storm has been brewing in these last days and this generation is actually going to be witness to the first wave of the thunderhead coming through.

"If" Rob passes, there is going to be another wave after him, and another and another . ..until the earth is covered with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea!!! :boydance:

Sorry to disappoint Nathan, but really you make my point,  you seem to think Rob Bell sings my song,

Jesus sings my song I do not need Rob Bell to sing anything for me.

Amen. Well stated.

No,no... I din't say he was singing "your" song, What I was saying was, we're all singing "the same" song.  We are all one body no sense in trying to pull away from each other . . .we're all still attached.  It's kinda like what I always tell my relatives . . .like it or not . ..we're all still related.  Same goes here.  Christ isn't looking for a self-segregating body, he's resurrecting one, ageless, purified body.  Carnal minds need not attend. . . . :laughing7:

Not disagreeing there, but I can pull away from the institutionalized church since God called me out of it in the first place and that church is not the church we are related in.  ;)

Nathan

Yeah, can't argue that one either. :dontknow:
