Note: I wasn't quite sure where to put this, but I wanted to share.
I watched a religious channel on YouTube review Noah, and as I read throuh the comments, a man commented about his son committing suicide, and losing his faith. To my surprise, the ET, who answered back tracked and said that because his son had a mental illness, God will judge him differently. Wait, what? Where does it say that in the Bible. This person isn't cruel enough to say that God will torture his son. It makes me wonder if the son had been looking at pornography, if the person still would have had the courage to stand by their theology and say "Sorry sir, but your son is in/going to hell.
I mean wow. I actually laughed when I read that and wanted to respond, but I know on a channel like that I would get ganged up on by him and his subscribers if I not only pointed out the hyprocisy, but also breathed a word of Universal Salvation.
That's because the pastor knows that if he were to tell the father his son is in Hell, that would probably turn the father against God (or at least be resentful towards him on the inside) because nobody in the right mind would want their family members to be in such a place, regardless of the circumstances. However, many hard core ET advocates would have told the father the following verse:
Luke 14:26
If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
My thoughts and prayers go towards the father and his family
ET is just so repugnant, so monstrous, that the human mind cannot easily deal with it. Forgiveness, salvation, and restoration are so much nicer. Even an ET advocate has to back off on the pressure from time to time. We don't.

Of course we know that if we take Luke 14:26 to actually mean human hate, then, it contradicts God's command to "Honour thy father". I also highly doubt that most of the pastors that would use that scripture hate their loved ones.

I agree, and I also wonder how they would react when others claim they would rather go to Hell than Heaven.
