I guess, for me, I didn't really stop judging myself because I read that verse by Paul. I stopped judging myself because the holy spirit taught me to. Self-judgement, self-accusation and a sense of shame was very deeply embedded within me....

And I do examine myself - usually to make sure that I'm not judging myself  :laugh:


As far as your mention of Paul beating his body into subjection, I'm not completely sure of your meaning...but, I do know that, for me, finding rest and peace and freedom from judgement has been the doorway into a life of high calling. The spirit has propelled me into a 'righteous' way of behavior and a form of living that could be called rigorous discipline. The important thing is I have not sought it. It has happened as a result of God's work in me not because I've tried to do it..

I like the verse in Hebrews 4, where I'm told to strive to enter the rest...It's a paradox: strive to rest :)

You are right   about Hebrews  4   being a paradox    that laboring  in  love   for   rest !  You  are pretty sharp yourself


Kind of like  a   woman would   labor to   have a  baby , so is it   as    sowing Christ seed in the  hearts of  mankind     to the  offspring/ new shoots   of the sons of God

something you rest in hope  for   ,  I am the vine you are the branches  , without Me you can do nothing    ,  the root  being  Christ      , those  that were and those whom are and those to come ,the branches    waiting for the fruit in due season   ,  producing  new babes in Christ /sons of His glory
