For he will transform the body of our humiliation into the image of his glorious body, according to his great power by which everything is made subject to him.
(Php 3:21)

I just noticed something for the first time today when reading this verse. The phrase 'hau dabeh' הו דבה, translated as 'by which', connects 'power' with 'transforming'. It is referring to the transforming aspect of his power, one which brings our humiliation into his image.

What follows הו דבה is also included in this transforming power (everything is made subject to him). He uses this phrase to connect his final thought as well, tying it all together.

In other words, the means by which everything is made subject to him, including those in the previous verse who's end is isolation, אבד (translated usually as 'destruction', is to have all transformed into the image of his glorious body. This is a power of the most effective and meaningful kind.

1 John 3:2
CLV(i) 2 Beloved, now are we children of God, and it was not as yet manifested what we shall be. We are aware that, if He should be manifested, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him according as He is."

3 John 4 - I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

2 Tim 1;7 " For God did not give us a spirit of fear,
BUT OF POWER AND OF LOVE AND  OF SELF-CONTROL."

Romans 12;2 " Do not be conformed to this aion, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
so that you may discern the will of God,
what is good and acceptable and perfect."

Just some of the references Paul makes about that transformation.

:cloud9: Amen, love it. If the SAME SPIRIT is in you that RAISED Jesus from the dead....that transformation changed the flesh of Him into one that could appear as anyone, and come through their walls and eat their fish.  :dsunny:

But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. 16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Cor 3

18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. Eph 1

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
