The captain of our faith made perfect through suffering

I've never understood that verse, after all, I think of Him as having always been perfect..

But I was pondering today how almost no one seems able to see the extreme logic of all God's doings.. I understand that many things are to us a mystery.. we see through a glass darkly.. but it seems logical to me that basically God had two choices.. create rational thinking creatures, or never create rational creatures. It seems logical to me that rational creatures have the ability to wander away from He who is life and the source of every and all things good, and seems logical that rational creatures simply hAve to go through this life of imperfection and thoroughly learn it's lesson.

Instead so many believers seem to think that somehow the all knowing, all seeing and omnipotent God somehow lost control of things and everything 'fell' into this mistake God made.

Um.. excuse me? That's of course, just crazy talk. :laughing7: (And then of course skeptics bLAme God for all evils under the sun, another blasphemy, imo, of His stellar character. And ability!)

All of a sudden the verse about Jesus being perfected made sense to me.. it followed fast on the heels of a thought that ALL rational creatures (beings if you prefer) have the potential of wandering away (falling! into less. No longer perfect and in His perfect image.)

If Jesus, "firstborn of all creation, the Only begotten/straight out from God One, had to learn (experience) the lesson of imperfection's fruit.. my gosh, how much more so each one of us?

Indeed all we go through is to learn and develop our character and values.

2 Peter 1;3-9 " His divine power has given us everything we need for a life of godliness,
                      through the knowledge of Him Who called us by His own glory and might,
                     by which He has FREELY GIVEN  to us His precious and splendid promises,
                     so that through them you may escape the corruption that is in the world caused by sinful desire
                     and become partakers of the divine nature.
                     For this very reason, make every effort to produce virtue by your faith
                     by virtue knowledge,
                     by knowledge self-control,
                     by self-control patient endurance,
                     by patient endurance godliness,
                     by godliness brotherly affection,
                      by brotherly affection love.
                    For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will make you effective and productive in your knowledge
                    of the Lord Jesus Christ.
                     For the one who does not have these qualities is blind;
                    he is near -sighted having forgotten that he was cleansed from his past sins."

All seems to back up suffering with Christ so as to grow.
Wisdom comes from experience.

The word perfect can also be understood in the Greek as "complete." Part of his mission, if not his very mission, was to complete the prophesies. So, maybe that verse is touching on the necessity for Christ to fulfill his mission as the suffering lamb and fulfill the scripture.

Amen brothers!

And He is completing us!
All the more reason to be constantly yielded and yielding to Him.. I try to remind myself that active praise (pouring forth worship) also works to purify, and further complete and perfect us in this ongoing process (of completing and perfecting)..

You know.. people refer to "the" tribulation and set a time span, but I lean toward thinking there is no "the", that this life of imperfection IS tribulation.. we all go through and will - come out of (Rev verse)
