We're told to live worthy of the high calling.  Ephesians 4:1

To become or stay His child by earning it?  No.  Because by being given faith to believe on Him through His grace, we are His child.  And that's the High Calling.  The Ruler of the Universe wants loving, obedient children.   Ephesians 2:8

How do we do it?  By our own strength or effort?  No.  By looking to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Hebrews 12:2

And then what happens?  He who has begun a good work in you will complete it.   Philippians 1:6

Thank Jabcat esp. re:  We're told to live worthy of the high calling  Eph 4:1

You provided a Scripture worthy of some serious meditation.

I looked at the whole chapter and eight verses really spoke to my heart and mind.

Eph 4  AMP

v 1   I therefore, the prisoner for the Lord, appeal to and beg you to walk (lead a life) worthy of the [divine] calling to which you have been called [with behavior that is a credit to the summons of God's service,

v 2   Living as becomes you] with complete lowliness of mind (humility) and meekness (unselfishness, gentleness, mildness), with patience, BEARING WITH ONE ANOTHER AND MAKING ALLOWANCES BECAUSE YOU LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

...

V 7   grace (God's unmerited favor) was given to each of us individually [not indiscriminately, but in different ways] in proportion to the measure of Christ's [rich and bounteous]gift.

....

v 12  His intention was the perfecting and the full equipping of the saints (His consecrated people), [that they should do] the work of ministering toward building up Christ's body (the church),
v 13  [That it might develop] until we all attain oneness in the faith and in the comprehension of the [full and accurate] knowledge of the Son of God, that [we might arrive] at really mature manhood (the completeness of PERSONALITY which is nothing less than the standard height of Christ's own perfection), the measure of the stature of fulness of the Christ and the completeness found in Him.

...

v 15  let our lives LOVINGLY EXPRESS TRUTH [in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly].  ENFOLDED IN LOVE, LET US GROW UP IN EVERY WAY AND IN ALL THINGS INTO HIM WHO IS THE HEAD, CHRIST.

...

v 23  be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude],

v 25  rejecting all falsity and being done now with it, let EVERYONE EXPRESS THE TRUTH WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, FOR WE ARE ALL PARTS OF ONE BODY AND MEMBERS ONE OF ANOTHER.

...

v 32  AND BECOME USEFUL AND HELPFUL AND KIND TO ONE ANOTHER, TENDERHEARTED (COMPASSIONATE, UNDERSTANDING, LOVING-HEARTED), FORGIVING ONE ANOTHER [READILY AND FREELY] AS GOD IN CHRIST FORGAVE YOU.

:cloud9: Yes, Amen......"the reason so many are sick and dying among you is because you are not discerning the Lord's body".

Pray ye one for another, that YE might be made whole (the 2 becoming 1, where 2 or more of you are gathered in My name/nature), there I am in the midst (=the BLOOD between the "animal pieces" in covenant) of you. Blessings....

That verse is one of the most powerful verses in the Bible. I have been holding that placard up, it seems like forever. How come no one is getting healed? Delivered?

Not discerning the Lord's body. Confess your faults one to another and pray for one another that you may be healed.

:cloud9: People HAVE been getting healed and delivered, but it's been under the in-part anointing realm that was designated as a 2 day/2000 year ministry. What is coming is NOT IN PART.

Seeing Him in all men is one of the ways we discern the Lord's body. There were two trees (two pieces of furniture in the holy place) in the midst of the garden, which is representative of the inner court. The other court EVERYONE could come in, including strangers. If the 2 trees are in the MIDST of the garden, then the WHOLE GARDEN IS HIS. Blessings....

Yes, but wherever the body is discerning(seeing the connection/vine life), the "as one soul, one heart" "single eye" opens the aperture for an outpouring of "great grace", in terms of the local ecclesia(great grace was upon them and the word of the Lord grew and multiplied). "This is the Lord's work and it is glorious in our eyes". To me, this is what "revival"(life coming back into dead flesh, valley of dry bones) and "restoration"(from your innermost being will gush fountains of living water) are about.

Absolutely..... the heart of Jesus, "Father forgive them", "I have other sheep that are not of this pasture", "in Him we live and breathe and have our being". True evangelism has to come from this heart in my opinion. Everything else is just prosyletizing and breeds scorpions.

"This is the Lord's work and it is glorious in our eyes".

That is the key.
Man tries to take credit for the Lord's work instead of being truly grateful for His mercy.
