We weren't meant to understand heaven...

Hello.

Everyone has those little things they wonder about that sometimes plagues there thoughts and makes it hard to sleep at night...

For me it's this:  When your dead and in heaven, won't eternity start to get boring after a while?

I've always liked to think that Heaven is a higher state of existence that we just weren't meant to understand in this life, but I was wondering if anyone could back that up with scripture.

I believe boredom to be a carnal trapping.  Boredom comes from spiritual separation, idleness, depression, monotony and can lead to sin.  A bored mind is more prone to step outside of relationship to find stimulation.

Spiritually, there is no such thing as boredom in Christ.  I can only speak for myself but if I am bored, I am not walking in true relationship that day.  I am looking to the world to "entertain" me.  A spiritual mind doesn't need entertained because it is focused on living and experiencing God in the moment and that never grows boring.  I can't remember a time where I was experiencing the presence of God and said to myself, "wow am I bored".

When we are in heaven, we shall be spiritually complete and without carnal trappings.  There will be no idleness, depression or sin.  Our relationship with Christ will sustain us completely.

Boredom is not part of perfection. Because Heaven is perfection there can be any boredom in heaven... :2c:
1 Timothy 2:3-4  ...God our Savior;  Who will have all men to be saved...
John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

I like what Shawn just said and furthermore, I think that we don't know what God has in store for us in the ages to come nor can we even imagine it.
Like the jews of the old covenant could not grasp even a bit of the new covenant in Christ, I think our "heaven" falls WAY short of what is coming, so boredom is not an issue.

I think we will be too busy to be bored. Jesus said I work and my Father works, they are creators. We are creators on a small scale but I believe we will be creators also.  I think Shawn was right also.

Jesus said He was in heaven while He spoke to the people beside Him on earth.
Can you understand that?

To me it's just a simple fact that we cannot understand much of anything until we experience it.  Since we cannot experience it till we get there there it really is overcomplicating the issue to elaborate beyond that.

Beloved Servant

The simple truth of Christ is God in You.
You must die so that you/he may live; through you!
That! life is eternal.

Fear, doubt and religion abort the Word of God.

Die if you want to. And you will.
Salvation is sealed in your faith.
BUT, you can forfeit you inheritance!

That inheritance is the land that you now possess!

Here's an excerpt from something posted here somewhere (maybe an OP of mine called, "Heaven and Our Near at Hand Hope.")
_____________________________________________________

Some think the aim of God's salvation is to die and go to heaven.  Recorded in several places Jesus says, "Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away." (Mk 13:31, Lk 21:33)  What will you do if you die and heaven is not there?  How Scripture uses the word ought to be looked at more closely.

The word "heaven" is slightly more than half the time plural in Scripture.  The commentaries like to explain it with a Latin term to sound like they know what they're talking about.  They say the plural "heavens" is majestis pluralis, meaning plural only to communicate the exceeding glory of heaven.  In reality there are three (3) heavens, (2 Co 12:2.)  They correspond to the 3 dimensions in which we exist: spirit (at least when regenerated, where peculiarly God's presence is,) soul (the psychical realm,) and body (the realm of earth's atmosphere to the distant galaxies.)  Jesus has passed through all the heavens (Hb 4:14) and rests up over all in the right of the Great All-Togetherness upon High (Hb 1:3.) While we are joined to Him there in ascension, we are undergoing a process with His Spirit sharing the same body in union with Him down into death and through resurrection to come into the demonstration of ascension.

When talking to strangers and I bring up God, whether believer or not, they usually change the subject to Ethics, "Do you think such and such is a sin?"  It seems there is some prior commitment that functions as a veil to keep out the unworthy that is seen in the common misconception that the aim or purpose of those in whom the light has shined is to die and go, not to "hell," but to heaven.  Progress toward our actual aim is in process whether we recognize it or not, regardless of what we do or not.  When accurately taught, "The rudimentary elements of the oracles of God" (Hb 5:12,) what functionally is our, "Foundation" (Hb 6:1,) we realize our aim is to not die, but live; and, to enter, not a place, but a state of being (in union with God) that corresponds to the Divine nature (1 Co 3:11.)  The apostle Paul (in Phillipians 3) described his aim:  "If by any means I may attain unto the resurrection from the dead..." (v.3) "I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus..." (v.14) "For our citizenship is in heaven; whence also we wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: who shall fashion anew the body of our humiliation, that it may be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working whereby he is able even to subject all things unto himself." (v.19-21)

Rather than a better place in death, resurrection followed by ascension is actually at the finish of the race we are in, a race against death.

Three heavens corresponding to each part of us that must be renewed--that's lovely.

Think about this--this huge universe all around us, and we live on the one speck of it that can sustain the life of these bodies we live in.  Is that an accident?   Why create a universe so hostile to life as we know it--unless this is just a place of incubation?

Revelation 21:4 "He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever."  If death, sorrow, crying and pain will be gone forever, then that must mean that boredom, worry, anxiety, confusion, and fear will be gone forever too.  :Sparkletooth:

It's something that seems hard to comprehend in this life, but I don't think we were meant to understand it until we get there.

10 ........; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

I think the way to abundance and life in Christ as Andrew Jukes put it is to and through death... We can never experience this abundance in living if we are still in bondage to sin or our carnal trappings. I found out that the typical way of worldly living is to always STRIVE and never arrive.

Meaning, people are always ambitious about something, but when it comes they're gonna want something else. It is only in denying one's self and taking up one's cross daily, being engaged in the activities of serving and giving that the glorious riches of God in Jesus can be revealed and manifested in one's life and with that there is NO end.

Jesus even said those who give up everything will receive MANY TIMES over and that's just the icing on the cake, because He will experience Zoen Aionion in the age to come

If we die to sin and live in Christ, then life eonian can begin TODAY, if we keep at it and our eye on the prize, we will even receive gifts when Jesus comes!
