Do you believe salvation and reconciliation are the same thing?


Salvation is different than reconciliation.

Salvation means to be saved from something that is inevitable.
The consequence of sin is death.
We are saved from the inevitable consequence of sin which is death.

Reconciliation means being reconciled in relationship.
We were in a relationship then we were out of that relationship,
then we were back in relationship with the original relationship.

In the beginning we were in relationship with God by being one
him. We were then out of relationship with God.
(we are out of relationship with God because he can't die and
we can, and are going to, because that is the consequence of sin.

IMO Reconciliation is the first level of salvation. "Salvation"- sozo Grk simply means "healing and deliverance" or restoration. We are first reconciled by the blood of the cross....ahhh living water begins to flow. What we are healed from is not so much death as it is- being without form and void. Life replaces death, fulness replaces emptiness, restoration replaces apollumi.  Many words in the scriptures compliment one another or are intertwined with one another to express different aspects, or elements of a larger reality. This healing we have received, this translation from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His glorious light, is multifaceted, or like the colors of a rainbow- varying elements of one light.
