I was excited to hear this news

--------------------------------------------------
Gigantic statue of Jesus Christ will appear in Prokopievsk town of the Kemerovo Region for the 80th anniversary of the city.

It will be established on the highest point in the town and surrounded with a garden. The monument will be 11 meters high: six-meter Jesus will stand on a five-meter pedestal with inscriptions of all the Ten Commandments. The monument will be highlighted in a special way: beams of light will shine from below upwards illuminating its enormous height.

For the anniversary of Prokopievsk there will appear some more monuments in the city, among them bronze Alexander Pushkin and Adam with Eve. The author of the monuments is Krasnoyarsk sculptor Konstantin Zinich.

---------------------------------------------------
Some people claim it's an idol though

Considering the Communists killed millions of Christians in Russia and its satellite countries in the last century, and taught generations that God=The State,  I consider it more a miracle than an icon.

Awesome, Glory. Look at the size of it's head.

Just as I thought, a long haired Jesus.  :sigh: If it's a shame for a man to have long hair why would Jesus have long hair?
