The Cross of Christ
1 Cor 1:17-18
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Oh that everyone would do this! There would be a lot less heresy floating around. But people, in general, don't want to think. They don't want to study - not the bible, not anything. Most Christians don't even often pray. They sit sleepily through Sunday School and church and they halfway listen to someone else's teaching, and then adopt what little they remember as their own doctrine. Now wonder the religious world is so screwed up! I have found lately that most people don't even know that there will be two resurrections. :sigh:

This makes me think of Hosea, which I'm reading.. How repeatedly Yahweh reached out.. proclaimed His love, mercy and forgiveness so often.. but the heart break of Hosea was an example of the heart break of God.. It must be painful to watch the ways of the world and the indifference of the people toward Him.. both written abt in Hosea, and Hosea "bought back" his unfaithful wife (out of slavery? one commentator said). Which is humanity our heavenly Father has redeemed (reconciled, and will gather).. because His love is ...endless..(?) demonstrated by the cross!!
