I haven't read it, but it was less than a year  ago that I was joining in with all my evangelical friends condemning it with disdain.

My college teacher even said "It's a doctrine of demons!"

Now I'm kicking myself...

Love must win.  Consider the alternative...

Yeah, I've been accused of promoting the doctrines of devils on www forums.  You have to grow a thicker skin to be a UR-believer.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

Since God is love, if you deny Love wins, you are denying God wins.
It's OK with me if you want to worship a loser. It's your free will choice.

I think the academics of the book is sloppy.  With that said, it got conversation on this subject going...and for that I like the book.
