OUR FATHER

Two days in a row I heard something similar.......

"We see our Father God usually in the same way we see our natural father"

For example: If our natural father made us perform for His love, we will see our Heavenly Father that way.

My father died when I was 4 and my mom never remarried so I don't have an "Earthly Image" to contend with, even though many have said that it was a bad thing not to have the father image in my life, sometimes I think it was a blessing that I could easily take Gods revelations about Himself and believe it and receive it because I didn't have an early image that challenged it.

When you think about your father - is their a similarity in how you see God?

No way!  My dad abondoned me in my infancy and my step dads were alcoholic perverts.  My heavenly Father is the only Father I've ever really had and I've never doubted His love or been afraid of Him in any way.

I never knew my earthly father. My stepdad wasn't mean to me, he just didn't provide for us. We were always in need of food, clothing, decent place to live. The only father I ever really knew and loved was my heavenly Father.

Im with Holly...

Theres no way on EARTH i would consider similarities to OUR Heavenly Father....even now we have No relationship and hes nearly 70... :sigh:

No correlation between the two for me. I am thirty now, so my dad and me are good friends, but we are both children of the Heavenly father, therefore Brothers in Christ.

Yes I think that is true. But I also believe that most of us got healing in this area. Until I encounterd Abba, Father for myself about five years ago, I was a even greater wreck than I am now.

If you would know my family background, it would be hard to believe that the Fatherheart of God is the passion of my life.

After my encounter with Daddy God, the Holy Spirit impartet an Anointing to me that He released every time in my former worship leading. Even older ladies would come to me and say: "I know you are still so youg and it might sound ridiculous, but each time you lead worship , I can see the Father in you".

Well, that always blew me away, cause my earthly father still hates my guts to this day and I have not been able yet to reconcile him to me, which is rather painful.

Both, my wife and I come from very broken backgrounds and that people can see the Father's love in our lives is just simply a testimony of His Amazing Grace. That was not the case before I really got to know Him. No matter of healing prayer, deliverance of counselling could actually bring about what He did to me when He simply held me in His arms five years ago.

No, for me, there's quite a difference. The Father is just different (boy, this is really hard to describe!) I wish I could "upload" my experiences for others, just so they could understand me!
Man, this life is really hard to communicate with language! Blah!

I think the premise is valid and must be overcome as with other things in our natural life.

My natural father mostly ignored me and this is the way I used to see God. It has taken years for me to overcome this view of God and to know how He cares for me.

Sometimes we can see the love of the Father through others, too; not just through direct revelation. A word, a gesture of love (even if not directed towards us), etc.
